Spec limits property in reliability platforms

What inspired this Wish List Request? Better visualization of specification limits in reliability platform outputs

 

Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see. When a spec limit column property is added and the option to "Show as Graph Reference Lines" is enabled, none of the reliability platform outputs display the LSL/USL as they are displayed in other JMP platforms.

 

What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided? Clearer identification of LSL/USL limits in reports and also consistency with how this option works in other JMP platforms.

 

Is this an external customer request? This is was highlighted by TEVA pharma.

 

Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?

Not that I'm aware of.

 

Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this? 

This will not impact any of those areas.

Hi @nick_shelton, I have a quick question about this request. What is the customer's use case for specification limits in the reliability platforms? Specification limits work well in other JMP platforms, so I am curious how they are using them with reliability platforms. Also, can you narrow the scope of this request a bit? Does the customer want this in all platforms under Reliability/Survival, and if so, why?

Hi @Sarah-Sylvestre the stability (degradation) platform is where the customer would like to see the specification limits to graphically capture those limits in addition to the shelf life calculations. They want the specification limits to visually look the same as their other analyses in JMP (Ex: control charts). More specifically they want the spec limit to be displayed with label "LSL" or "USL" accordingly and also for the spec limit line to be blue. This is exactly how spec limits are displayed in other platforms when the spec limit column property is enabled. 

It's possible to manually customize the graph in the stability platform to show spec limits (via reference lines) but their request is for JMP to automatically display spec limits when the spec limit column property is enabled. They only asked about the stability platform but I was the one who noticed none of the reliability platforms had this capability. They would be content with only the stability (degradation) platform being updated. Thanks for your help, let me know if you need any other details.
