Global Enablement Learning Manager Phil Kay (@Phil_Kay) loves showing people how data analytics enables better science. And he wants our customers to know that JMP cares about the bigger picture when it comes to the future of work for scientists and engineers.
Phil recently wrote a column for Chemistry World about the need – or lack thereof – for chemists to know how to code. "I have strong opinions about how people and organizations should adopt data analytics and drive digital transformation," Phil said. "I don’t expect everyone will agree with me, but discussing these things is healthy for us and for the future of science and engineering."
He points out that digital transformation is one of the biggest challenges that organizations face. There is less need for writing code (much of that is point-and-click these days) and a greater need for better data skills in the scientific community – specifically data visualization, statistical modeling, machine learning, and design of experiments – all of which JMP can assist with.
