What inspired this Wish List Request?
Currently this is not possible and we require customers to start with data normalized with methods outside of JMP/JMP Pros list of transformation. This works, but that means another tool outside of JMP must be used before use in JMP/JMP Pro.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see.
This reference summarizes the problem:

WE can do log2(x+1) transformations on columns which does appear to be an acceptable alternative, but has its own issues with count data that is also very sparse.
Adding some addition methods (VST and/or Dispersion) for Single Cell RNA-seq data will help with some of these issues.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided?
Do more within JMP instead of having to use other tools first which might attract a customer to stay in that tool instead of going to JMP/JMP Pro
Is this an external customer request?
Yes, Ionis Pharmaceutical
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
R/Bioconductor is the main source of competition.
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
Customer is evaluating JMP Pro for this kind of data. Currently they can get normalized data and it might have a low impact for this customer, but being able to start and stay within JMP Pro might sway them. Remains to be seen what happens with the evaluation.
