What inspired this Wish List Request? We have heard from many strategic customers (Nvidia, Tesla, Rivian, etc.) that other vendors (Minitab, Tableau, among others) are providing detailed usage metrics that help them make business decisions around keeping/growing that software. It is now widely expected that software vendors are including telemetry capabilities to be able to provide details about who is using the software, how often they're using it, and which platforms/tools are being used. This data helps to guide conversations and develop business justifications for champions/advocates to continue using JMP (or other software vendors). Without this data, internal advocates and JMP sales teams are left flying blind when working to renew customers, and in the current economic climate, there is an added level of scrutiny for justifying expenses.
Please describe the new or improved feature or solution you would like to see. JMP should not only be able to provide a list of the named users using the software, but also detailed metrics around how it's being used Customers want this and expect this.
What would the value be to you and/or other users if this new feature is provided? Due to the lack of this capability, we were unsuccessful in growing Nvidia by several hundred users this year, thus impacting JMP's topline revenue by several hundred thousand dollars.
Is this an external customer request? Yes, Nvidia is the latest customer to make this a sticking point, but most of our strategic customers have also reported this same feedback.
Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of? Minitab, Tableau, MS Office products (Excel)
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this? Yes, Nvidia today, and many others in the future
