Re: JMP Live FAQ1. Is correct. And is correct in 16 too. JMP 17 will have the ability to refresh data with a refresh script. You can also replace just the data in 16 and the report will be recalculated with the new data and be updated, which is maybe the intent of the question. You can replace just the data either interactively or through a script as new data is available.
2. That is correct, every JMP Live user will need a JMP Live license.
Re: JMP Live FAQHi Daniel @Daniel_Valente,
Would you please kindly confirm whether my understanding is correct as following?
1. The current JMP Live can not execute JSL code. JMP Live 16 will support it. (The workaround is better in JMP Live 16.0, where from JSL the owner of data can update just the data of a post, and JMP Live will automatically regenerate posts that rely on the updated data. --Eric)
2.The end users(publisher) already have their JMP license on their desktop to publish the reports, nevertheless, they still have to pay for JMP live license once they need access JMP live to read the reports.

Re: JMP Live FAQ@saradoudt thanks for picking it up again
I wanted to know this as it provides us with more options for the discussion about the next steps with the customer. If we know some of our partner have done such projects, we can be more confident in proposing a path forward when it comes to implementation. I'm looking forward to hearing from @MaanasaT
Re: JMP Live FAQ@stan_koprowski - Hey Stan, yes that does indeed work.
When introducing prospects/customers to JMP (prior to any actual demo portion of a presentation), I lean a bit heavy on the website (JMP Analytic Workflow, user community, Learn JMP resources, etc.). For my bit, I walk them through finding those things from jmp.com - in hopes they will be able to return to those same places easily for further learning and exploration. We can accomplish only so much in a demo/webinar, so we hope to lay the groundwork for expansion of the conversation to things they may have not thought about previously. We do what we can during the session and hope that we also spark further investigation from participants - i.e. I liked what I saw in that JMP Public Control Chart Warnings example and want to see it again so I can show it to a colleague, manager, etc.
Just a suggestion from the way we engage with prospects.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@Tim_Pierce_JMP
Why not just type the url "public.jmp.com" in your browser or "jmp.com/public"?
Or am I misunderstanding the question / problem.
Stan
Re: JMP Live FAQ@martindemel - OMG, i am just now seeing your comment above about partners. I have let @MaanasaT know and she is looking into it and will reach out to you. So sorry about this!
Re: JMP Live FAQ@Tim_Pierce_JMP thanks so much for the feedback. Yes, JMP Public was intentionally removed from the main menu in an ongoing effort to streamline our menu to highlight our more strategic content. However, you can find the link to JMP Public from the JMP Live pages as well as the workflow page. Is that going to work for your needs?
Re: JMP Live FAQIn prepping for a demo today, I noticed that the JMP Public external page is no longer available via navigation from the main www.jmp.com home page - or at least I can't find it.
Not sure if that was intentional or not, but it is helpful to go straight from the "JMP Analytic Workflow" page to the JMP Public examples (and have prospects see how to return to it on their own) as we talk about the "sharing results" options.
Just fyi. If better to post this somewhere else on Inside JMP, let me know.

Re: JMP Live FAQDo we have any consultants experienced with report creation for JMP Live? Especially if there are multiple tables which have to be updates with a scheduled script for one single JMP Live report (so not a simple case we as SE even can support)? I know we have good scripting consultants but I'm not aware they have experience in the combination with JMP Live, do they?
Re: JMP Live FAQThanks, @Audrey_Shull, that's the gist. The JMP Live UI is being developed using a "responsive" methodology, so the UI adjusts to the size of the window/device, and we do pay attention to how it looks on mobile devices. The not so great aspect is that the HTML5 content (the reports themselves) do *not* use responsive design, so there is a lot of scrolling. And that would be the same whether using the web or using a mobile app.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@wendytseng - We did investigate the possibility 2-3 years ago with a summer intern, but the project was too big for a summer, and there have not been enough resources to devote to developing such an app. However, there has been some attention paid to catering to smaller screens in the regular browser, so the JMP Live UI should be usable within a phone or tablet browser. If you find issues in that mode, we would consider it something we should address.
Re: JMP Live FAQHas there been any discussion about creating a mobile application for JMP Live?
Re: JMP Live FAQThx Eric, this sounds promising. Looking forward to it in a future release (hopefully not too far away
). So far this customer may not be satisfied enough to invest in JMP Live 16 , but I see and appreciate much the progress from 15 to 16.
Re: JMP Live FAQHey, Martin,
Direct connections to the database is something we are exploring for a future release of JMP Live. In JMP Live 15.2, the workaround required the publisher to re-publish the entire analysis, either manually or on a schedule. The workaround is better in JMP Live 16.0, where from JSL the owner of data can update just the data of a post, and JMP Live will automatically regenerate posts that rely on the updated data. It is also somewhat easier in JMP Live 16.0 to share data among several posts in a folder than it was in JMP Live 15.x.
Hope that helps,
Eric
Re: JMP Live FAQTo the FAQ: "What are the limitations of JMP Live. What is the end user not able to do in JMP Live?"
- "Updating reports has to be done by the client. There is no direct connection to a data source once the report is published to JMP Live."
The question: Was there a solid reason to design JMP Live this way? Or was it just due to lack of developer time for the first version and is on the (more soonner than later) roadmap?
Some customers ask why it is not possible to have a one-klick button in the interface running the data update part (e.g. to get the new data from the database. This is different to running a scheduled script and is a key manko for them to use JMP Live e.g. in technology and production departments.
One Reason: Connecting to database can be done by the user who generates the report easily. This could be included in the report script (if wanted) and then one would have to just open the JMP Live report, press a button and bang there is the new data.
Right now they would have to create a scheduler script to grab the data from the database in a certain frequency and run it in the background. This is additional effort for the data science group having to set this script up. This is not different to what they have to do with Python and e.g. Rapid Miner, so no value add, aka saved effort.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@flo_kussener FYI, the JMP Live team will be demoing the key new features of JMP Live 16 at the JMPDev meeting this Thursday, September 24, 10:00am EST. Perhaps you can attend or catch the recording.
Thanks!
Eric
Re: JMP Live FAQMerci @dieter_pisot !!!
j ai fais un test et ca marche au top!!!! je vais surement me prévoir une petite vidéo pour l'avoir sous le coude, meme si le serveur n'est plus accessible!
Merci beaucoup!
Florence
Re: JMP Live FAQHi @flo_kussener
we have information about all the new things in JMP Live 16 here in confluence
There is also a brand new JMP Live 16 instance (devlive16) that you can use to test the new features. Just please keep in mind that we might have to shut it down from time to time to install the latest code.
Re: JMP Live FAQBonjour,
Merci beaucoup,
Florence
Re: JMP Live FAQJust to follow up on @John_Powell_JMP 's reply to @mzwald , we do anticipate that future versions of JMP and JMP Live will make it easier to do things like create empty folders, add JMP reports to an existing folder (interactively that is; you can already add reports to an existing folder via JSL) and other things to help users organize their content.
Eric
Re: JMP Live FAQ10 useful tips for automating the publishing of JMP Live reports shows how to publish reports into a folder using JSL.
In the GUI, with multiple reports open, you can use File > Publish and get a Select Reports dialog, that allows you to choose which reports to include in a folder:

After you click Next, you give the folder a name and optionally a description and other customization.
In JMP Live, when looking at a folder, you can select a report

then remove it from a folder to a top level item,

then from your profile, select a top level item (or several) and move top level items to an existing folder.

Notes:
- You can't create a folder in a folder.
- You can't create an empty folder or a folder with only one report in it, but you can create a folder with more than one report, then remove or delete as many reports from the folder as you wish.
Re: JMP Live FAQHow does one go about organizing JMP Live reports into folders?
This question regularly comes up and I haven't found an answer.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@Aurora_TiffanyD and @josh_markwordt , Thanks, this clarifies the status. I agree that it should not be in html5 for free. however JMP Live needs a license we get payed for and therefore it might be something different to consider for the future.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@martindemel In the JMP 13 timeframe, profiler desirability functions and the simulator were both decided to be too valuable a feature to give away for free in the standalone Interactive HTML output (see http://sww.sas.com/defects/java/iDefects/WebClient.html?defectid=S1188237) - management wanted users to pay for a copy of JMP to have that functionality. Decisions like these could be reevaluated in light of JMP Live, although there are technical considerations as well as financial ones to weigh.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@martindemel
Denying download capability is on our radar. We are tracking this in the defects system (S1552127). However at this moment I don't have a date or version by which I am certain it will be included.
Re: JMP Live FAQHi,
is it on the roadmap to deny download capability of the data in JMP Live? I understand that the data needs to be published to get the interactivity with data filter and column switcher. But it would be great if one can decide if a viewer can also download the data and/or script, or just the script or nothing. THis should just be an option/permission setting and would not do any harm on the interactivity, right?
In addition, as JMP is under the hood wouldn't it be possible to use the data and recalculate for the simulater in the profiler? Business value: If you want to provide several options the manager should decide on to run a cost efficient robust process, the simulator is key to understand the better robustness though less e.g. yield. Without the simulatior you just see different settings, but no effect on robustness, which is a key differentiator for one managers decision besides just the optimal yield!
Re: JMP Live FAQ@nick_shelton
No, it is currently not possible.
A future feature suggestion only.
Stan
Re: JMP Live FAQ@stan_koprowski I agree there are some benefits to keeping the comments to serve as a record of decisions. Just to clarify are you saying it's currently possible for a JMP Live administrator to "lock a report", "change comments" or "archive comments from viewing" or were those suggested feature improvements for consideration?
Re: JMP Live FAQNick,
Thinking about this from a workflow perspective--
I can imagine the following scenario--
- Publish report
- Make comments / decisions
- Update report based on comments and decisions
With @Eric_Hill 's approach you enable or retain the history of the decisions that went into creating the report.
Define a published report status of either 1)in-progress or 2)final
If a report state is set to final:
- lock report (admin change to modify report or change comments view or comments archive status)
- archive comments or
- hide comments from viewing
This has a few advantages--
- You could have a publish status of in-progress or final
- Retain or not lose the knowledge that was built into the report and decisions that were made along the way
Just a thought...
cheers,
Stan
Re: JMP Live FAQ@Eric_Hill Thanks! That's a suitable workaround. I'll keep that workflow in mind as I communicate JMP Live best practices to customers.
Re: JMP Live FAQHey, Nick,
That's an interesting use case that I don't think we have considered. I will add it as a suggestion. I guess the workaround would be to re-publish the report and share that version. But I could see not wanting to do that.
Thanks!
Eric
Re: JMP Live FAQLet's say I'm an engineer working with other engineers to fine tune a report in JMP Live. At the end of the fine tuning process I now have 50 comments in the report that I would like to delete before sharing the report with a larger audience. Is it possible to quickly delete, hide or turn off all comments so the wider audience does not see those comments?
Re: JMP Live FAQWe are not providing it in the 15.1 cycle because the API is going to need to change. It will probably be V16 before we feel it is stable enough to document. If we document now, we are stuck supporting that API forever.
Brian
Re: JMP Live FAQAny word on API documentation for JMP Live?
Re: JMP Live FAQGood stuff! Thanks Brian!
Re: JMP Live FAQAlso, the misspelling had already been corrected in 15.1. Thanks though. - Brian
Re: JMP Live FAQRe: Jerry Fish's comments: If we continue to host for the customer, it will be possible to maintain or migrate the existing database for them. If the customer decides to host on-premise, they would have to handle the migration. We would need to know immediately that they wanted to retain that information, and we would have to open up access to the database to enable that migration.
Also, the report description has been extended to 2048 characters in version 15.1.
Brian
Re: JMP Live FAQRemoved post. Problem fixed. (Thanks Brian!)
Re: JMP Live FAQJust reporting a wish list item: Customer is concerned that 512 characters in report Description is not enough, would like there to be more.
Re: JMP Live FAQWe have a customer who is interested in the JMP Live Trial. Assuming this is eventually approved and happens, I understand that JMP hosts the trial. What happens to the information that the customer stores during the trial? Assuming they buy JMP Live, is the information stored in the trial able to be transferred to their new license, or do they have to start from scratch and rebuild everything?
Re: JMP Live FAQRegarding the JMP Pro license (included in the JMP Live packaging) I have one question to clarify the usage right:
Is the Peimary SAS Representative also allowed to use this JMP Pro license "for value creation (meaning: to solve business issues)".
Thanks in advance for your response & kind regards Jessica
Re: JMP Live FAQHi @DaeYun_Kim
#1--from the error description provided it would appear the JMP session is not running.
This has been an issue with our customers not understanding when the session manager is up and running versus down during the installation process. Development is aware and working to improve this situation moving forward.
For now, please ask customer to verify the services is running by logging into the JMPLive console as an admin and verify pool status is running.
JMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool statusJMP pool status
The pool status should be spinning if active. If not they can recycle them by clicking the "recycle" icon to the left of the "x" icon. This may not resolve issue with local data filter not being applied due to JMP pool session error and as a result we might need to diagnose a bit more.
Please ask them to send above errors to:
JMPLive_Beta_Support@jmp.com so that we might help customer quickly resolve.
@Bobby_Riggs in Technical support will be able to help with answering the remaining questions and with getting the JMP pool session running.
thanks,
Stan
Re: JMP Live FAQDear All,
First of all, Thanks to @stan_koprowski and @dieter_pisot's devoted efforts, customers of South Korea are successfully implementing JMP Live EA program.
Below questions and inquiries are from South Korea's JMP Live EA customer.
1. Data Filter in JMP Live
Our customer wanted to see the specific result when he chosed specific data filter, but he couldn't see the specific result. Only error message popped up and there was no changes in JMP Live chart. Below is the screen capture of error message.

2. Limitation of Tabulate in JMP Live
He tried to publish via Tabulate platform using JMP Live, and the length was 12, 557. We know that the row was insanely too long, and as we expected there were output in JMP Live. There were no partial output, but just no responding.
3. Is it possible to manage outputs by group?
He is also curious about that JMP Live can handle all the outputs by folders. JMP Live handle the outputs by groups, but he wanted to manage by folers. Is it possible?
Thanks again for all the developers and supporters of JMP Live.
Thanks in advance and Best
DaeYun

Re: JMP Live FAQHi everybody,
This time, I do not want to ask question, but just give you a positive feedback about JMP Live.
Yesterday, we did the French user group meeting in France, with about 75 attendees.
Two customers, SOITEC and Lynred (both involved in semi conductors industry), presented the value of JMP Live.
- Lynred did a POC realized during the last 6 months on public data to validate the JMP Live value.
You can see the post here:
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/vincent-de-schuyteneer-30ab6662_evolution-of-grenoble-pollution-jmp-public-activity-6588160620686901248-kOmR

- Soitec presented the data management workflow they did to be able to simplify the process and give best visualization tools for the future readers next year.

In addition of these two addicted customers, it generates a lot of positive feeback from people in the room: Save time, and give access to industry 4.0 from database with query builder to report with JMP Live
After months of collaboration between Soitec/Lynred and French team, we can say that JMP Live is on the road to be real in France.
Thank you for this great product,
Florence
Re: JMP Live FAQFlo,
The reason is, there are only four of us.
There is no technical reason. It's just that there is no one available
to work on this, because we are all working on higher priorities.
In such a situation, you take technical short cuts, so we did.
Thanks,
Heman.
Re: JMP Live FAQHi Florence,
I guess that HTML5 currently has some issues when including Control Chart Builder in a dashboard. I encountered a crash when exporting a dashboard with two control chart builder reports using different data tables. See http://sww.sas.com/cgi-bin/quick_browse?defectid=S1540618 .
Apparently you have a different case. I tried to explore your scenario using my data and encountered some other issues but not yours. Do you mind sending in your case so that I can log it into defect system?
Thanks,
--Hui
Re: JMP Live FAQHi Heman,
I completly understand. CC are complex platform which is not easy to rebuild in HTML and requires a lot of work for your team.
my question is why does it affect the other analysis on the same report?
thank for your answer,
Florence
Re: JMP Live FAQBecause there are only four of us
We were hoping to fully support CCB in 15.0,
but this is one of many places where we had to take a technical shortcut.
We hope to get more of CCB working in 15.1 or 16.0.
Thanks Flo,
Heman.
Re: JMP Live FAQHi,
I did a very simple dashboard and publish it on JMP Public with JMP15.
https://public.jmp.com/packages/Example-Report/js-p/FVh4Dhr67dY6tBwMZ5cbX
If you check Report 1, everything is working fine (and I could even add a filter if I want. Perfect).
If you check Report 2, I have NO interactivity anymore. It appends because of the presence of Control Chart. I know that there are some limitations with the CC with JMP LIve, but why does it affect my interactivity in distributions and Graph builder staff?????
Thank a lot,
Florence
Re: JMP Live FAQChromium Edge is still in Beta. When it goes Production, as Stan says, most of our features "should" work, where Edge is compatible with Chrome.
Where Edge is incompatible with Chrome, it's not clear we will do any work to support it. At around 5% market share, Edge does not offer much return on our investment.
We have done very little testing on Edge.
Re: JMP Live FAQWe've seen a number of problems with the current production version of Edge that we have chosen not to fix. These problems appear to go away in the upcoming version of Edge, the one based on Chromium (same engine as in Google Chrome).

Re: JMP Live FAQ
@dieter_pisot @Eric_Hill thanks a lot, that's what I needed to know. Great that you plan to enrich the tracking functionalities.
Re: JMP Live FAQWe are doing more along the lines of tracking who views which reports in 15.1.
Eric
Re: JMP Live FAQ@martindemel JMP Live does keep an audit log of when reports (packages), users, groups etc are created, modified or deleted. What I didn't find is that it keeps track of when and how often a report was viewed by a user. At the moment that's something a webmaster might have to get out of a webserver log.
Re: JMP Live FAQ(I haven't found this being asked before)
Does JMP Live supports/provides any log statistics? So can I access usage statistics like how many views, downloads, who is looking what report how often, .... Or does IT need to take care of this on their own implementing any log on the cloud usage?
Re: JMP Live FAQAlisa,
JMP Public is a free service allowing users to publish content. Please read the Terms of Use ask the customer to read as well. It clearly says "SAS reserves the right to discontinue providing any of the services and information available on this website, to make changes or updates to this website, or to the products or programs described in this website, or to these Terms and Conditions at any time without further notice. Your continued use of this website following such changes signifies your acceptance of the revised Terms and Conditions.".
So, don't promise anything about JMP Public, ask people to read the Terms of Use. If a customer wants to flexibility you describe in your post, they will need to license JMP Live and pay for that service.
Jon
Re: JMP Live FAQAll,
It is a pleasure to work with such optimistic people
but many assume, if it works in JMP, it works in JMP Public / JMP Live. This is far from true.
JMP Interactive HTML has only four people, while JMP Desktop has a 30-year head start. So, necessarily, we only support a subset of JMP Desktop features.
We've written a high-level overview of features not yet supported:

Re: JMP Live FAQHi Dan-
Our team is talking to a non-profit energy research company that is publishing visualizations for limited public consumption. It’s cost prohibitive for them to purchase JMP Live. A couple issues came up:
- Will JMP Public posts be available “forever”? For example, they will create visualizations that they want to share publicly with their constituents. How long will those be available?
- The customer was concerned with employee turnover & didn’t necessarily want their employees to publish company data to JMP Public with their work email because if they leave the company, access to the visual is gone (although I did tell him he can download the data file). He wanted to know if a generic company e-mail address, e.g. administrator@company.com can be used to publish on JMP Public? I told him it sounds like some internal policies he would have to put in place.
- What’s the size limitations for JMP public? This was a question directly from the customer. I assume if they can create the visual on their computer with JMP, then JMP Public can handle it?
Re: JMP Live FAQYes, the windows task scheduler can be used to automate publications. Though the task scheduler only allows a task to be executed every 5 minutes. So for near 'real time' they would have to take a different approach. Either by going to something like a windows service, which is a bit more involved and I haven't tried yet, or by scheduling several tasks at certain intervals. The danger with that approach is that one task might step on the execution of the other.
Re: JMP Live FAQHi @Daniel_Valente I had a customer question on a call: They were looking to understand whether JMP Live could automate publications through windows scheduler down to once a minute or less. It would be the same report format with new data. I wasn’t sure on the capability here as I would assume that is almost ‘real time’. Based on your answer, is this capability any better/worse than just having JMP automate reports in the same way?
I assume this capability will be restricted by the server capacity hosting JMP Live – Do you/we know the limitations of this?
Thanks,
James
Re: JMP Live FAQContent is visualized by JavaScript running in your browser. The browser is running on your machine. Therefore, the size and power of your machine can have an impact on the visualization.
JMP Live administrators can place limits on the size of a package that a user can upload and the total size of all packages that a user uploads.
HTH,
Eric
Re: JMP Live FAQWendy, Michael's answer may be more appropriate to your question, that there is a size limit you can set.
I was more answering the question, is there a size limit in general? And that answer depends on the device.
With a large enough file, they could run out of memory on the PC that published the file, the server that stores it,
or the device that displays it.
Re: JMP Live FAQ@wendytseng
As an administrator on JMP Live you may set an individual post size limit and a total user storage limit as well. You can find these settings in the Admin section, under the Settings tab.
If you're interested in content from a specific user you may follow them on their user profile. When you follow a user, their public content will appear on the 'My Dashboard' view. Similarly, when you are a member of a group, that group's content will start to appear on the 'My Dashboard' view as well.
Re: JMP Live FAQThanks, @heman_robinson A few follow-up questions to that.
The ability to upload the file is constrained by one's computer resources is what I hear you saying. What about the size of the content on the server? Is there a limit there?
I am confused by why my computer's resources are being utilized to visualize the content. I had understood that as a JMP Live Server constraint. Can you explain?
Re: JMP Live FAQThere is no hard-coded limit on file size, but there are limits.
When you publish a report, if it is large, JMP will display a warning.
If you choose to publish anyway, it may run out of memory,
or it may succeed, depending on your hardware.
If publishing succeeds, viewing may still fail on some devices.
For example, a report that displays well on a fast PC with lots of memory
may not display on a slower, smaller tablet.
Re: JMP Live FAQWe recently received a couple questions from a customer during a JMP Live Demo.
- Is there a file size limit for JMP Live (file size of content posted)?
- Is it possible to subscribe to content from a particular user or group in JMP Live?
Re: JMP Live FAQThanks @saradoudt and @Tim_Pierce_JMP. I'm doing to make some changes to this to make certain AE's can present it and know what they're talking about. Seeking some guidance from Dan and friends to get to the minimum, and may repost with Marketing's blessing once those changes are made for quick use by a more general audience. I'm no @Daniel_Valente and need no additional excuses to make myself look foolish in front of an audience! Stay tuned....my presentation will be Wednesday so I expect it will be done by then!

Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQWill administrators of JMP Live be able to know which users have accessed which reports?
Is it possible for other users to annodate reports in JMP live with their own comments?
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks for the info and the nomenclature advice, Stan!
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi Jerry,
I would avoid using hosted and on-premises in the same sentence moving forward.
There are two models for JMP Live--
- Hosted; JMP handles the overhead, installation, maintenance, technical support and administrative up keep aspects
- On-Premises; customer responsible for overhead, installation, maintenance, administrative tasks; we provide technical support
With the on-premises model for JMP Live we plan to support all the major cloud providers, including,
- Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Microsoft Azure
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
We will have documentation available and sessions at kick-off to peel back the layers as needed.
Stan
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQI haven't seen this specific question addressed yet (apologies if it has been already):
If a customer wants to host Live on premises, will it work with Microsoft Azure instead of AWS?
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@DaeYun_Kim --
1. Shouldn't be a problem so long as the minimum system requirements are met.
2. This will be mentioned in the JMP Live System Administrator guide and also an updated version of the JMP Live External presentation. There are example configurations for small, standard medium and large deployments with guidance about CPU cores, Ram, OS etc. This will also be on the JMP Live Adminstration and Deployment page on jmp.com that is currently in development.
3. JMP Live can be configured in terms of what groups are on the site as well as what content is published. There are also admin settings that be adjusted, which control things like use permissions, number of JMP sessions, maximum publish size, availability of social sharing and download restrictions if appropriate. This can be done at the time of deployment or via the admin parts of JMP live once it is deployed.
4. If there is a configuration setting that is not supported in the current version of JMP Live it will have to go through our standard channels for getting new features into the product.
5. This presentation is being updated right now and will include updated diagrams from deployments and also authentication. It's a good idea to cover admin customization. Thank you for that suggestion.

Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ1 -- For SharePoint, unless you have a SharePoint team site setup where you can embed the JMP Live report, you are only going to get the download link. Microsoft is also seemingly pushing everyone to teams, where sharing a JMP Live report is very easy.
2 -- I need a bit more information here, maybe there was a translation issue. It just says "JMP Live Accounts" 7 times in English.
3 -- Correct.
RE: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks @Daniel_Valente ,
Here's my understanding.
1. Our customer can share with their customers via MS Sharepoint using JMP interactive html. But if they share their output like this, they cannot use data filter recalculation and column switcher which is main features of JMP Live. But when I tried this(sharing with MS Sharepoint using JMP interactive html), only downloading of html file was available.
2. If our customer buy over 100 users' license of JMP Live and they use JMP Live in their own hosting, then they can give their 3rd party customers JMP Live accounts.
3. Process automation can be easily fulfilled with some JSL and scheduling for updating their own data.
Am I right?
Thanks and Best
DaeYun
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey @DaeYun_Kim --
Question #2 -- That's really up to the organization's policy on allowing 3rd party accees to internal compute resources (if they are hosting it). From a licensing standpoint, as long as the organization has enough JMP Live licenses available they can allocate them to 3rd parties viewing the reports. I suspect suppliers will want to do this. They can license JMP Live to publish their quality reports to their version of JMP Live and then grant a user account to their customers, who might want to view these data. We'd want to know who will be accessing JMP Live, where they are in ther world, etc., but there is no specific issues with this usage patterns, and it means more JMP Live usage.
@martindemel characterization of the automation workflow is quite good and complete. Not too much to add there.
@isabelleswaenep there is no concerns with your workflow here, and the JMP Live license allows international usage. So if JMP Live is deploted to hardware based in France, the JMP Live users can publish to it with no problem. We'll just want to know where the JMP Live users are located and how many of them there are. The "single publish location" is the endpoint of JMP Live -- it's a single URL irrespective of hardware configuration of JMP Live (which should be powerful enough to accomadate the total number of users. Where you'd need a seperate license of JMP Live is when you want something like USAlocation.live.jmp.com and FRENCHlocation.live.jmp.com. That's two publish locations.
RE: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks @martindemel , I'm not expecting "real" real-time, so 10 or 20 seconds would not be serious problems. I just only want to know the automation using JMP Live.
As far I understood, JMP Live can automate the process for the recalculating figures or graphs. If that is possbile, that is all I need.
Thanks again.
DaeYun
RE: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@Daniel_Valente I'm looking forward to hearing you. See the above my question and @Eric_Hill 's answer.
Thanks in advance.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQDan,
You talked about a single publish location. Let's start with the server based in France. Could JMP users in US if they have an international used of JMP, could publish on the server in France? If so, we could considered one single location if I follow your answer? Right?
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThe JMP Live license is for a single publish location. More publish locations will have to be new sites, with 100 users minimum and separate transactions.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi,
I have a question about what we will allow the customer to do with the JMP Server on-premises version. In the global price, on the first step, JMP Live is defined with the JMP Server and 100 readers for international usage. What will happen in case of multiple server location for the same company? Some of my customer, due to speed answer, have one server in Asia, one in US, one in France, with a global management in France. Will we allow the JMP Server to be installed and duplicated to each server with the same initial price?
Many thanks.
Isabelle.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@DaeYun_Kim as far I understood, you can write a script to gather new data, do analysis and publish/update the report to JMP live. If you schedule an recurring event on your system level which is running this script you will get an update based on your schedule times. However you should check if the "real time" is to fast for updating the report, this means if the report generation requires 20sec but the schedule is every 10 sec this would collapse with time. If it is really real time (less than seconds) I believe you should switch to other solution (SAS or python, as this usually is just to monitor and not to make analytics). The next thing to consider is do you really need that frequency. So is the purpose worth running that often. Most of the time a minute/ten minute/sometimes even hourly based update is good enough.
Would be great if someone of the JMP Live team can comment on my statements and either confirm or clarify this
RE: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks a lot, @Eric_Hill
OK, I fully understood.
Here's another question regarding previous one. Can JMP Live automatically update data in real time? For example, when the analysis was done, we can publish our analysis result via JMP Live. And if someone want to update the result such as figures or graphs in real time, can JMP Live update the data automatically?
Thanks in advance,
DaeYun
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey, @DaeYun_Kim - Customers are welcome to save JMP's Interactive HTML to SharePoint. They just won't get the degree of interactivity (data filter recalculation, column switcher) that is possible with JMP Live. The only way to get that level of interactivity is with JMP Live.
#2 is a question for Dan Valente.
Thanks!
Eric
RE: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ
I think the ablove opinion's translation was not working properly, so I rewrite the question by English.
1. Can JMP Live be implemented in MS Sharepoint? One of Korean Bio company is using Sharepoint and they are sharing some analysis results and graphs in real-time. So they asked JMP Live can be implemented in Sharepoint.
2. If the question #1 is not possible, we can consider following case. If our customer(Bio company) buy 100 user credits of JMP Live, then can they offer 10 user credits out of 100 to their own customers? i.e. Their own customers of our Bio company doesn't want to buy JMP Live, and they just want to be shared like MS Sharepoint. Of course our customer, Bio company don't want that their own customers risk another payments as well.
Thanks in advance
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi,
I have few questions around autonomous reporting with JMP Live.
- If you have a report which is daily updated, let's say at midnight, what append if there is an issue (for example, data access didn't work, or whatever)?
- Is there a storage location for log file?
- Can we imagine an automatic email sent to a group of advanced JMP users who can be informed by the issue?
- can we imagine a check of the report content before submission (so we can be sure that the new report on JMP live is complete and that there are no missing parts, and if it is not complete, have the choice to upate it or keep the previous one?)
Thank a lot for your inputs,
Florence
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@DamianCarville I don't see a response to your question about regulated environments. IMHO, we have given very little thought to regulated environments to this point. My thinking is that this first version of JMP Live is probably not a great fit for businesses in highly regulated environments. Perhaps those concerns can be addressed in a future version.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks Dan and Heman,
I believe the two (three) most often asked things are all the model profilers (including simulator functionality) and providing published Dashboard interactivity. If in a dashboard filterning using reports is not possible in html5, sad but ok, then at least the rest of the interactivity should be kept instead of making the rest as static.
Dashboard functionality is in my eyes really important, as in Sales we experience the cumbersome way of looking at 10 different metrices going back and forth which where previously in one view in Salesforce, just as an example (not to blame anyone - if it feels like that I'm sorry).
The other thing I'm worried a bit is the starting package of 100 users. With that we exclude all the smaller midsize companies having maybe 50-100 people and e.g. 20 JMP licenses with the goal of addressing 30-50 viewers only.
If I'm correct even Tableau has a 10 viewer package. Is this by purpose as it would be cheeper to just buy for those 30-50 also a JMP license?
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks @heman_robinson. Martin is right in his caution. It is important to position JMP Live as a way of sharing JMP Discoveries with others in an organization that may or may not have JMP, not a full version of JMP on the web.
The consumers of the JMP Live reports are, however, able to download the data table and script and if they have a licensed version of JMP or JMP Pro, they can continue the analysis.
But yes, please let us know which reports JMP users are saving as interactive HTML that are not supported (either locally or to JMP Public/JMP Live). The interactive HTML team worked hard this past cycle on adding additional support for more Profilers to increase the coverage of that space, for example based on user feedback. With FDE being brand new, there is always going to be some lag between the inclusion of a new platform in JMP and the availability of that platforms as interactive HTML. That's just the nature of how this project works.
But please do give us your suggestions about places to focus efforts on and we will weigh those with other priorities as we start planning for JMP 16 and beyond.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQMartin's point bears repeating:
"...we should be very cautious on promoting that you have JMP Pro under the hood and can have (all) interactivity as in JMP for viewing the reports. As this is not true. Many interactive parts in JMP are not interactive in JMP Live."
This is easily explained when you consider that JMP's Interactive HTML team has had 4 people for 5 years. JMP Desktop was built by many more people, over 30 years. So of course, only a subset of the features are interactive.
We work with Dan V. to ensure we have the *best* subset. Make sure Dan knows what is needed, and we'll do as many as we can.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQBelow is some feedback from a (large) pharmaceutical customer. Any thoughts on how we might address his points/questions would be welcome:
'As you know, we are in a regulated environment. Our JMP files do not usually get published and shared, but they live in electronic notebooks that are accessed only by members of a particular team.
'ability to perform recalculations on JMP Files ?'
Our data is data verified and the recalculations may break the DV status; i.e., the modified JMP file will require another round of data verification.
I am not sure if JMP Live has thought about regulated environments.'
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ1. Is there any way of having the solution path of GenReg or the FDE model selection (sliding the number of knots or changing from linear to cubic, ...) interactive in JMP Live? Even if I use the Graph->profiler with the functional formula is not working interactively as soon I use expand intermediate formulas. And this is the clue of FDE at the end as you wnat to get the supplementary variables (true factors) in the profiler and not just the FPCs.
I already hear plenty of questions from users sharing their models to explain why they used a certain model over the other in a live report, but will be disappointed.
If not we should be very cautious on promoting that you have JMP Pro under the hood and can have (all) interactivity as in JMP for viewing the reports. As this is not true. Many interactive parts in JMP are not interactive in JMP Live.
2. Dashboards are not working completely interactively if you have filtering within the Dashboard. E.g Using Distribution as filter I know is not expected to work, but it should be at least interactive for marking bars, but it is only a static distribution report then.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQre: #4 -- yes devlive15.jmp.com is the best place for EAs and sales teams to demo and show JMP Live. It looks and feels like a private instance of JMP Live, but is a public publish and view location. It still uses SAS Profile/SSO for authentication though. The sign in page says JMP Public still, that will be changed soon.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey, Damien,
Thanks for your questions! Here are the answers:
1. Yes, all users will have the Create Group option. Users can only create one type of group: Personal groups. And they do become administrator of Personal groups they create.
2. Yes, Auto groups will come from LDAP/AD. Exactly how that will work (whether we bring all LDAP/AD groups in or an admin curates the set of imported groups) is TBD.
3. Hidden groups are created and maintained by an administrator. Personal groups are exactly like Hidden groups except they are created and maintained by users themselves. Nobody can see either Hidden or Personal groups unless they are a member.
4. I believe devlive15.jmp.com is the best place for Sales folks to demo groups. Dan V can chime in if he thinks differently.
5. The JMP Pool Status screen is not intended for license management. It is a way for an admin to see how busy his/her pools of JMP Servers are.
6. The whitelist/blacklist preferences could certainly be used to control which servers which users can publish to. I don't think it's a great mechanism for that, and if we end up with scenarios where customers have this need, we may want to come up with a server-based mechanism for this sort of control. I don't know that admins want to maintain a jmpStartAdmin.jsl file on every user's machine that is different based on their department. The main reason for the whitelist/blacklist in jmpStartAdmin.jsl is to allow admins to prevent all of their JMP users from publishing to JMP Public.
HTH,
Eric
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks for posting the link to the video. Upon watching, I have a few questions:
Groups
- In the demo, Michael’s profile – has a Create Group option…will every JMP Live user have that option? What types of groups can a user create? Does he/she then become the Group Admin for that group?
- Is our expectation that Auto groups will be automatically created and/or populated based on a customer’s existing AD/LDAP groups?
- Hidden versus Personal – what is the difference? Can Hidden only be created by a System Admin? Can everyone see Personal groups, even if they are not a member?
- Do our sales folks have access to a JMP Live instance yet where we could show Groups at a user, then at a System Admin level?
System Admin
- In the System Administrator console, there is a JMP Pool Status location….is this some form of license management for JMP Live viewers?
- Do we anticipate that customers might utilize the whitelist/blacklist JMP scripts to maintain their internal silos? So, at a System Admin level, they can send publishers from certain business units (for example) ONLY to their permitted publish locations? Am I misunderstanding the use case here?
Thanks in advance.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi Jason,
This question regarding groups and permission management has come up a few times, so I am glad you asked. We just added another FAQ (#25) that addresses (i believe) most of what you are asking. I would watch the recording and if you have further questions, let us know and we can add more details if needed. Thanks.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey All,
Couple of questions...
How will JMP live be adminstered within our customer's companies? Will there be some kind of admin consol or portal server? More specifically, how will our customers be able to manage things like employee movement that requires changing permissions at a higher level than within groups?
Again, on the admin side, what type of person/skills are we thinking will be a fit for a JMP Live administration? Will a customer require IT/IS administration?
Appologies if this question has been aswered and lost in my skimming:)
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQDamian --
(1) -- The standard license for JMP Live includes 1 publish destination and optionally a test server (second destination; not for production). It does not allow for deployment of multiple instances of JMP Server. What is allowed is distributing the bits of JMP Live to multiple machines/instances/VM. For example, you can have the database on one instance, JMP server on another, and JMP workers on multiple instances that scale as needs demand. This is completely transparent, however, to the producers of the JMP Live reports. The simply publish to "JMPLIVESERVER" within JMP.
(2) -- It's a good idea and one that we should think about for future versions of JMP Live, once we open up that use-case more generally.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQAnother couple of questions:
- architecture and deployment - I understand a customer will be able to deploy multiple instances of JMP Server (under a single license agreement), in order to optimize the user experience (reduce lags, load balancing etc)....does this mean each instance would require a copy of JMP Pro to do the recalculations? Is a single copy of JMP Pro (per instance of JMP Server) going to be adequate for installations where many users may be publishing and consuming concurrently?
- If JMP Live is adopted as a content management repository, do we envisage a path for customers to be able to 'publish' other documents (non-JMP) for access via the sites?
Thanks in advance!
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks Eric, much appreciated.
FYI - I recommend everyone watches Eric and Dan's plenary presentation at Copenhagen last week, it does a great job of demonstrating use cases and interaction with JMP Live:

Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey, Damian,
Thanks for your questions.
The primary tool for organization in the initial release of JMP LIve is going to be Groups. We hope that we can import groups from a company's Active Directory, at least as a starting point. Aside from that, Administrators are free to create groups, and individual users can even create groups themselves. When publishing from JMP, the user will see a list of groups they have publish rights in and can choose to publish their content to one or more of those groups.
As for "view personalization", users can view their "dashboard", which will show them reports published by people they follow and reports published to groups they are members of, and they can filter the list in various ways. Or they can view "All Posts" which includes the dashboard reports plus anything published to "public". We don't currently have a way to save your view, but it's an interesting idea. We've also talked about being able to mark a report as a "favorite" and see a list of your favorites, but it is not clear if/when that will be implemented.
Thanks,
Eric
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQA couple of questions/comments around the functionality of JMP Server as a content management repository:
As a customer, I would be interested in the following:
- how can leverage I JMP Live to organize the reports, possibly on a process-centric or department/division-wide basis? Is this something that will be handled at the point of publishing, or will it require an administrator setting up directory structures of some sort?
- Is a JMP Live 'viewer' able to personalize their views, so they see the same reports immediately when they authenticate? If so, how do they 'add' reports?
Thanks in advance.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@Jordan_Hiller Regarding whether a user will VPN or just log in through the browser: I'm not sure we know that for sure yet, or even whether it will be the same for all companies or different based on their needs/desires.
@flo_kussener You are correct - either include the data and get interactivity or exclude the data and get a static report. Not feasible to encrypt the data, because once it gets to the HTML, it can't be encrypted. I don't see the possibility of a generalized "Anonymize" button that wouldn't break scripts. It would be up to the publisher to anonymize their own data before publishing, I would think.
Thanks,
Eric
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi,
I have a redundant question from customer about data: what if you don't want to share the data of the report to the JMP live readers? it seems that if you do not share the data, you loose beneficials of filtering etc.
An additionnal consideration is wouldn't it be possible to encrypt the data, like a "anonymize button" when we publish the reports?
Thank a lot,
Florence
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@Eric_Hill , I have a question about credentials/access. How will users access a JMP Live report from outside their corporate network? Will they need to use VPN, or just log in with username/password through the browser?
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi @Daniel_Valente ,
I think @Valerie_Nedbal 's question is one that we are going to hear a lot:
"...they would like to get those web reports being updated automatically based on the new data without running the reports again manually. Is that how JMP Live will work?"
Can we please add it to the FAQs above?
(Unless it is already there and I have missed it!)
Thanks,
Phil
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ12/10/2018. JMP 14.2 is available to download. Users can publish to JMP Public. Added links to the blog post series about JMP Public. Added longer slides for positioning JMP live.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQI added some sales objections and use cases to this document that I would appreciate feedback on.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ2. The plan is Feb 2019 for the start of the JMP Live EAs. 3. We are developing a test/evaluation agreement right now. It will be completed shortly. The customer will have to sign that paperwork. All of the EAs have to be approved by myself and Jon Weisz. We plan to do around 12 worldwide. We want the EAs to be customers that will likely license the software when it is available in September. We want to partner with organizations that have a defined use-case up front and work with them to try and use JMP Server and JMP live to solve that use-case in the EA.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey, Valerie,
1. LDAP/Active Directory support is planned. The idea is that your customers will log in to JMP LIve with the same credentials they use in their organization already. We should also be able to eventually support federation (picking up the login without the user even having to log in to JMP Live at all).
2. That's Dan's department.
3. Also Dan's department.
4. Not in JMP 15, but I understand the pain. Essentially, this would be allowing the publisher to supply a "source" script that would run in the context of the server to update the data. Interesting . . . .
Thanks!
Eric
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQOther questions:
1) Security: i guest that you can publish for only a limited of consumers using the group option in the publish dialog box. How are those groups being defined. is there somehow possible to use credentials to access the reports? The customer is using "Active Directory" from windows.
2) When will the Early adopter of JMP live start, and when is the deadline for the customer to be member of JMP 15 EA for JMP live?
3) What is required for a customer to be part of the JMP Live EA (excepted of their commitment)?
4) From my earlier question how the schedule automated update of published reports. Is it possible to run the script from the server where the data resides without downloading the data on the desktop. The customer has problems in some regions to download the data because of slow connectivity from the database.
Thanks in advance,
Valerie
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQGood idea for sure.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey, Valerie,
Something else on the roadmap that I think would be helpful here would be for a publisher to have the ability to update just the data for a report, without having to regenerate all the analyses. JMP Live would then regenerate the analyses using the scripts already published and the new data. Do you think that would help with the scenario you are describing?
Thanks!
Eric
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHere is an example of a JMP Live report that runs on a regular schedule monitoring the JMP EA program membership growth: https://jmplivesales.na.sas.com:3501/packages/Business-Metrics-Early-Adopters-Program/js-p/5b2bf3c4e3bde533e04f5b3aRe: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi Valerie -- this use-case is what we expect many of our customers to want to do, and they can if they think about workflow. A version of desktop JMP has to be in the publish workflow. This is exactly what we are doing with our Salesforce data right now, though (internally) -- the EA membership or Elite qualification dashboard. Storing data in a database that gets updated daily -- well that is our system of record, Salesforce. We have a script in JMP, which publishes a JMP Live report every day to our production server. The script uses an API call to Salesforce, pulls down the latest data, cleans it up, builds a standard set of graphs and replaces the package in JMP Live automatically. We have many of these running using the Task scheduled to update every hour. It's a little bit different workflow than they might be used to with Tableau. We may in the future allow you to point a JMP Live report at a data source to have it refresh on demand or on a schedule but it will not be there for JMP 15.0. So to answer you question -- " they would like to get those web reports being updated automatically based on the new data without running the reports again manually" -- well yes but running a replace JSL script on a regular schedule. But it won't be exactly like Tableau. If you download a version of JMP 14.2, you can see much of the scripting index is already documented in the Scripting Index.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi Daniel,
A customer is storing data on a database which can be updated on a daily, weekly basis. With JMP Live, once the web reports published on the server, they would like to get those web reports being updated automatically based on the new data without running the reports again manually. Is that how JMP Live will work? For now they are using Tableau which is updating the reports exactly how I described.
Thanks in advance,
Valerie
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQGreat question, Dara. Stay tuned for complete details on licensing. We'll have more detailed training and conversation at kickoff in Jan.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi Dan, Me again! I just watched this morning's presentation and it was very helpful in better understanding the offerings, and abilities of JMP Server, JMP Live, and JMP Public. As I watched I had a customer in mind, that represents many I feel, that is global. I don't recall any mention of that. If the tools are licensed are they able to be used/shared on a global scale of a customer and their international entities? Dara
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks Eric. Some folks on my team were asking about this. Good to know.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHey, John,
We would really like to localize JMP Public/Live, but it's not something we have addressed materially to this point. So, I guess the plan for localization is to do the right thing when time and resources allow :-).
Eric
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThis is great information Dan. What are the plans, if any at this time, for localization/translation of the product? Will it be available in the same languages as desktop JMP?
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ Thanks Dan and Alexander. I'm really appreciated.
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQ@DaeYun_Kim to access resources on Pointdrive you donÄ't need to be a LinkedIn member. The advantage in using Pointdrive is, that you get notified every time a customer/prospect opens the Pointdrive presentation.

Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQDaeYun -- 1 -- You can always send them the individual resources. The goal is to get them to fill out the form at jmp.com/tellmeaboutlive. So that is the call to action you will want to use in any materials you forward to your customers. 2 -- JMP Server is part of the software you license with JMP Live. It will be offered alone (with a monthly fee), or combined with seats of JMP Live for viewing reports hosted on the JMP Server. Pricing details are coming soon. 3 -- No, since JMP Live is a website, there is no requirement about which version you need of JMP to view. You just will need a license of JMP Live to log into the platform and view reports. The actual version of JMP running on the JMP Server is opaque to the JMP Live user. 4 -- The "JMP Server" product that you are referring to is a presentation server license of desktop JMP. This is a different use-case and different product. They are not interchangeable and the creation of JMP Server and JMP Live do not change/adjust the value proposition of using JMP in that capacity.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQHi, Daniel
Thanks for your introduction and FAQ about JMP Server / Live and Public.
We(JMP Korea Team) have discussed internally about these products today, and I have some questions for you.
- Point Drive : Can our customers who has not LinkedIn account access LinkedIn PointDrive?
- JMP Server : If our customer purchase JMP Live, is JMP Server free product?
- JMP Live : We can understand that customer who has JMP license can publish via JMP Live after releasing JMP 15.0. Is it necessary to upgrade JMP 15.0 to view JMP Live? For example, I have JMP 14.1 version, can I view the result of JMP Live?
- JMP Server : We think that JMP server which is mentioned here is different from Server version of JMP. Are we right? If so, what’s the difference of meaning between JMP Server and Server version of JMP(which is contrary concept to Desktop of JMP)?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards
DaeYun
Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQCouple of updates (see links at beginning of document) 1. Point-drive is updated and can be used. 2. YouTube video is available and can be used. 3. Interest form is updated. EA page is still in progress, will update this thread when it's available again.Re: JMP Server | JMP Live | and JMP Public FAQThanks for the information Dan. Chuck
Re: JMP Public | JMP Server and JMP Live Presentation and QuestionsThanks for coming to our meeting Dan! I let the team know that their questions will be answered in time. Great to start thinking about this now.
Re: JMP Public | JMP Server and JMP Live Presentation and QuestionsI just put together an updated version of this and swapped out the PPT deck.Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationChul-Hee -- We will start the EA program in Sept, and the page is currently in-progress, but yes pointing them to the EA page makes sense. Also, in the shorter term, the linked in Point Drive/SalesNav that Tim references above will be great for getting people to register to the "keep me updated" campaign. Let's keep in touch about what customer (you can email me about this) and we can decide what the best action plan is moving forward.Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationYes, please avoid using that for the next week or so, until we get everything updated.Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationLooks like the Point Drive/SalesNav assets are in process of being updated, so holding off on using that for now.
RE: JMP Share Marketing PresentationHi Dan,
One of key customers in Korea is interested in the easy way of sharing JMP reports internally. So, I just verbally informed them about JMP Share.
They want to know what JMP Share is in detail.
Do you think that it is the best to inform them the URL https://www.jmp.com/en_us/jmppublicearlyadopter.html and ask them to register as an EA of JMP Share/Public?
Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationThank Dan, And was there a response to this from Tim - 'Any chance the video on JMP Share from the Q1 presentation yesterday is available?' I need some brushing up and would like to see your demo again - is there a place to do that? Thanks for the direction.
Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationHere is the change management doc: https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Sales-and-Marketing-Library/JMP-Server-JMP-Live-and-JMP-Public-updates-and-change-management/ta-p/67247Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationHi Dara -- This is the latest content, but of course the name has changed. We are in the process of updating the video and updating the EA page. We have secured public.jmp.com as the new URL. We changed the naming plans as well, too: JMP Live is the more general name for the portal where you can publish JMP reports allowing others to see them, exclude rows using the data filter and have the content regenerate, and all that. JMP Public is the name for the specific instance of JMP Live that JMP is hosting in AWS allowing anyone with a SAS Profile to publish to it, view published content there, etc. It’s URL is public.jmp.com. In the JMP 15 time frame, the name JMP Live will apply to private instances of this portal that we host on a company’s behalf or they host internally. Sara and Landra are working on updating https://www.jmp.com/en_us/jmppublicearlyadopter.html The login is: JMPpublicEA and Password is: showoffyourdata if you want to check out the content. We still want customers to register for the EA to please don't share this login info with them. This page has name changes, but still old screenshots and the old video. That should all be updated soon and then the point drive/keep me updated page will come next.Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationHi Dan, Is this still the latest or is there a better place to find updated info or a video web overview, as I target some EA kids myself for this project? Thanks, and good seeing you a couple weeks ago. Dara
Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationDan,
Any chance the video on JMP Share from the Q1 presentation yesterday is available? I have a few key targets for EA testing and it would be great as a communciation tool. If not, is there anything else that is appoved for external consumption now?
Thanks,
Tim
Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationThanks, Tim. Reposted without preliminary pricing information. That is being worked on right now. I'll keep everyone posted.
Re: JMP Share Marketing PresentationThanks for sharing Dan. Based on your comments at kickoff, I will assume the pricing listed on the last few slides is a bit in flux and not to use those for customer conversations yet. Still good to know what the preliminary thinking may be.
Tim

ABOUT JMP LIVE:

What is the difference between JMP Public, JMP Live Hosted and JMP Live On-Premise?

- JMP Public is free and the data will be seen by anyone.
- JMP Live (hosted or on-premise) is a paid product for proprietary data to be shared privately and securely within an organization.
- It is more expensive to purchase JMP life with hosting services provided by JMP
- See more benefits of hosted vs on-premise below in the sales targeting and positioning section.
What is the architecture of JMP Live?

- JMP Client – Publisher of a report or set of reports from desktop JMP.
- JMP Web Application – The reports residing on JMP Live.
- JMP Pool Manager – Compute Resource #1 – Contains instances of JMP that allow for that sort of processing on reports that require filtering or “recalculation”
- Dedicated Compute Resource #2 – Contingent upon the user load on JMP Live, additional instances of JMP may be needed for the JMP Pool Manager, which warrants this Resource.
- PostegreSQL DB – Storage database.
- Authentication – The technology behind allowing users to log in, view, and publish to JMP Live
- Internet Browser – Mechanism to view and interact with reports on JMP Live.
Since Keycloak and PostgreSQL are not embedded in JMP Live, use of both by the customer for things other than JMP Live are subject to the third-party terms associated with that software.
That's too confusing for my audience. Can we get an explanation/diagram for non-IT people?

- EXPLORE: You explore data with JMP on your desktop and then discover something that you want to share with others within the organization who may or may not have JMP.
- PUBLISH: Discoveries are published to JMP Live that is either hosted by JMP (hosted version) or hosted internally by your organization (on-premises version).
- SHARE: Those reports then get pushed out to JMP Live where licensed JMP Live users can access them.
- ENRICH: Users can interactively explore the reports using the same options found in JMP, such as the column switcher and local data filter.
If JMP hosts JMP Live for a customer, where is the server physically located?
JMP uses AWS which has a number of availability zones worldwide. We will align the AWS zone with the location of most of the report consumers for optimal performance.
*Note: For remote employees, organizations will need a corporate VPN solution that allows access to JMP Live and other internal websites within the organization’s firewall.
What is JMP Live not?
- JMP on the cloud.
- real-time dashboards/reporting. You can automate your data to be updated at whatever frequency the client desires (every second if they want), but it is not real time.
- a replacement of presentation virtualization licenses of JMP or JMP Pro.
- It is subject of limitations of the existing interactive html reports. This includes:
- Data is included in published report; and is required for interactivity.
- Data size limitations for performance of interactive html reports.
- The interactivity and supported features of interactive html report with the notable additions of column switcher, data filter, excluded rows due to presence of JMP running on the server for recalculated.
- Updating reports has to be done by the client. There is no direct connection to a data source once the report is published to JMP Live.
- Not all of JMP is interactive. Every new version of JMP aims to add more interactive reports, but there is always going to be a lag between new features added to the desktop and support for those features when published to interactive html.
Can JMP Live reports be automatically published?
Yes. Starting with JMP Live 17 data can be directly refreshed from JMP Live. JMP Live can connect to various data sources, like a database or an API, to get new data. The data refresh can also be scheduling with JMP Live without the need for Windows Task Scheduler.
JMP Live is not real-time reporting.
To determine best frequency customers should consider:
- How large is the data set? How long does the publish activity take?
- What is the critical timeframe in which you would need to publish the data? i.e. how often is new data coming in?
This is the primary use case that we see for JMP Live. For reference, a good example of this use case is our Salesforce dashboards where we pull data from Salesforce into JMP Live hourly.
So with this, the question to ask a customer:
- What are the reports you need to run on a regular basis – the daily x report?
- What reports do you have where the data is continually changing, but the view or dashboard stays the same?
- How many people want access to this data and need to make decisions from the data (who have or don’t have JMP)?
Data refresh.
With JMP Live 17 the refresh of the data can be done and scheduled within JMP Live, by adding a refresh script and a schedule to the data post in JMP Live.
There might be situations where the data source is not accessible for JMP Live, if for example the data is in a file that can’t be accessed from the server where JMP Live installed. Then the customer licensing JMP Live can still elect for the license to include a license of JMP Pro for a presentation virtualization environment to be used for the sole purpose of automating the publishing of JMP Live reports. For certain customer use cases, it may result in a better overall and stable publishing experience for JMP Live and assist an organization in more tightly controlling “production” JMP Live publish scripts.
The target use-case of JMP Live includes a number of JSL scripts that are run on a regular schedule, updating reports on JMP Live as new data comes in. As a convenience to a customer who licenses JMP Live, the customer can request a “JMP Automation Add-On”, which can be installed on a Windows Server OS (copy of JMP Pro
cannot be installed on the same machine on which JMP Live is installed). The add-on is to be used to run publish scripts through the Windows Task Scheduler on a machine that has sufficient up-time, security, IT management and available RAM. It will enable an optimal publishing experience for the customer without bogging down an individual engineer’s machines with publish scripts.
This change should help with the following questions/objections:
- What if someone goes on vacation or takes their laptop home for the night? How do their JMP Live publish scripts continue to run?
- IT doesn’t give admin access to client machines; JMP users cannot user the task scheduler on his or her machine.
- I have too many scripts to run, I still need to use my machine and can’t have it running publish scripts every N minutes.
This JMP Live Automation Add-On would be provided on a fee-waived basis. Conversations around this usage should be in the context of sales objections/workflow conversations, not as initial conversations for positioning JMP Live. This add-on can be included in the supplement at the time JMP Live is licensed or added by amendment to the supplement at a later date.
The JMP Automation Add-On is not available for evalutions.
What is actually published to JMP Live?
- Interactive HTML Report
- Data set
- Meta Data
- JSL script that is necessary to generate that analysis.
This allows for enhanced data sharing and collaborating allowing people to pull down the data to do analysis on their own or to see how the report was built.
This means the JMP Live report is subject to the limitations of the interactive HTML reports in JMP – meaning if a report is not interactive when I save it in desktop JMP, it won’t be interactive in JMP Live.
If someone wants to publish only the report without the data (not sharing the data table), there is an option when publishing to uncheck to NOT publish the data, which pretty much provides a screenshot of a report/graph and doesn’t allow for any interactivity. This is just another way to only share what the producer wants to share.
How does JMP Live compare to SAS VA or SAS Viya?
If a customer asks about SAS VA or SAS Viya please say that you can talk about JMP and JMP Live. If they have any specific questions about SAS products or solutions, please have them contact their SAS Rep. You can also point them to our
JMP and SAS page, which covers a lot of the use-cases of using JMP and SAS together.
Additionally, in JMP version 15, we added JSL functions to work directly with SAS CAS from JMP: “Integration with SAS Cloud Analytic Services (CAS) server provides a simpler scripting mechanism, better authentication/authorization control, easier data set retrieval and the ability to run CAS actions from JMP to take advantage of high-performance, large cloud environments built on top of AWS, Azure or OpenStack.”
ADMINISTRATION, INSTALL & DEPLOYMENT
What type of groups can be created and how will those be administered?
What technical resources are available?
If you are looking for technical documentation, please start with the
JMP Live Administrator Essentials Guide page (jmp.com/liveadmin) that gives a high-level description of the different configuration options, deployment options, and authentication. It also has a list of technical resources at the bottom. These links will be populated as soon as they are finalized.
Who is typically involved from IT from the customer’s side?
Here is a list of job titles that we have encountered/worked with to discuss JMP Live:
- IT portfolio manager
- Manager, software development
- IT enablement
- Systems architect
- Visualization project owner
- Visualization technical lead
Many other roles/titles depending on size of company.
What are the typical challenges with IT?
- Typically, IT doesn’t have any experience/has never seen JMP. So, walking them through can be cumbersome.
- Limited experience with SSL certificates – they are not used to requesting or using SSL certificates. Often the wrong format is used
- Difficulties setting up identity providers (IDP) to authenticate to JMP Live
When should sales involve the Cloud and Deployment Engineer?
As soon as IT is involved or whenever IT has questions. All SE’s should be able to do the initial introductions and demo. If there are technical questions, SE’s should feel comfortable writing the questions down and supplying those questions to
@dieter_pisot to answer.
What questions should I ask the customer before engaging the Cloud and Deployment Engineer (C&DE)?
- Do they have IT support?
- Do they have a designated JMP Live admin?
- Is IT available and willing to support the business?
- Are the IT goals the same as the business? Are they aligned?
- Do they plan to host? Or do they want JMP to host?
- Do they have a governance model? 1.Data governance – rules about where did the data come from? Who can access? 2. IT governance - business policies about the infrastructure.
- Have they defined their use cases? Are they appropriate for JMP Live?
- Have they read the installer documents?
- Have they read the requirements documents?
- Has sales already provided a demo to IT?
What are the technical requirements?
System requirements for JMP Live are listed
here.
What happens after the sale?
- Tech Support has been trained on JMP Live and will serve as a first line of support.
- Suggest the admins go through the JMP Live Training Videos
- A training session going over how to administer JMP Live can be requested
What are SSL certificates and why does an organization need them?
SSL certificates are text files containing cryptographic keys that enable a browser and the web server to have secure communication. SSL certificates are used is to keep sensitive information sent across the Internet encrypted. These keys are specific to an organization and are typically provided by third-party vendors like DigiCert, Symantec, and Network Solutions. JMP Live requires these certificates.
What kind of SSL certificates are required for JMP Live?
- A file containing the SSL certificate's public key, also referred to as the certificate itself
- A file containing the SSL certificate's private key
- A file containing the SSL certificate chain, containing all intermediate and the root certificate authority (CA)
Who handles troubleshooting?
JMP Tech Support.
SALES TARGETING AND POSITIONING:
What is the target account profile for JMP Live?
- Many information consumers.
- Mature use of JMP software, already capturing value and ready to distribute the information to wider audiences
- A need to regularly share information within a collaborative environment
- Multiple storage systems with an opportunity to aggregate information
- Data driven organization
- Competitors' customers that need more a statistical approach to their reports
- Six Sigma organizations with established statistical methodologies and a commitment to analytics
- Manufacturing
- Batch reports on yield
- Failure reports
- Variability reports
- Supplier quality
- Consumers: shift workers, manufacturing engineers, line supervisors, quality control manager
What pain points does JMP Live address?
Some customers may not even be aware they have a "problem," and you will need to help them envision how a new way of doing things will provide results, i.e. "opportunities"). Some common problems are
- Information silos
- Inaccurate reporting
- Old data, outdated reports
- Data security (providing interactive reports reduces the number of individuals that need direct access to the data)
- IT burdened with requests for custom reports
- Time wasted on re-running same reports
JMP Live can off opportunities like:
- Share information in an interactive way to decision makers
- Aggregating and sharing output from multiple sources
- Sharing information on processes up and down the supply chain
- More rapidly assess problems in a process, particularly manufacturing
- Speed up the process to bring new products to market, communicate throughout the experiment phase to identify problems, decide quickly go/no-go, and learn from past experiences.
What are the qualification questions for JMP Live that will allow us to broaden discussions beyond our traditional JMP users?
- How do you currently share reports/information?
- With whom do you need to share information?
- How often are reports updated?
- Where do you/your team/your dept currently store all of your analyses?
- How do you collaborate with other groups?
- How important is it to have interactivity in your reports?
- Use the Miller Heiman "Golden Silence": How do you share information today? Pause and wait for them to illustrate and listen for gaps that JMP Live can fill.
What are the primary use cases for JMP Live?
Individuals, teams or organizations that need to:
- distribute JMP reports (instead of email, shared folders).
- make JMP reports available for non-users (with data filters).
- Publish reports that are created automatically (daily “X” report).
- have a repository for project data and reports.
- prepare decision alternatives for managers (typically non-users).
- automate data prep without pains of setting up data source access.
- deploy dashboards to visualize data.
- deploy visual dashboards instead of addins.
- share interactive analysis reports for consumer understanding.
- create interactive charts with data currently stored in multiple sources.
- create a shared, interactive dashboard to more effectively collaborate.
What are the primary sales objections for JMP Live?
- JMP Live Sales Objections and Responses Page
- We like JMP, but there is too much in it. Can you make a JMP viewer or JMP lite?
- We like the idea of JMP Live, but I don’t want to have to worry about setting up servers or deal with complex things like security, elasticity or regular server updates.
- The hosting fees you are charging are too expensive. Can’t I just host it?
- I need report that updates on a regular basis.
- I don’t want to worry about if my co-worker has access to a JMP Live report.
- The cost of your total employee license to JMP Live is too expensive.
- Everyone in my organization has a JMP license, why do I need JMP Live?
- JMP is too “me-centric”. Don’t you have a web-based version where everyone can share and collaborate on data analysis problems?
- JMP tools for querying databases are nice but it is painful to give every JMP user access. I have to allow the office network access to the database through the firewall, I have to add user accounts to the database, I have to install SQL drivers on JMP user’s computers etc.
- Publishing reports to JMP Live with File -> Publish is nice, but it needs to be automated.
- I like HTML5 reports, but Data Filters and Column Switcher don’t work.
- I need to share and/or finalize analyses for reporting the results of my clinical trials without requiring a full heavy JMP Clinical client.
How do we position JMP Live to the economic buyer and what opportunities/benefits does JMP Live create?
- Fewer requests for custom reports
- Other economic buyers may be much higher in the organization; ask the questions to find the right people that are concerned about innovation, continuous improvement, data driven decision-making
- Company wins – note this is where the conversation goes beyond the department to a broader value discussion
- Speed to market
- Quality across the supply chain: Product, Supplier
How do we position JMP Live to the publishers in an account and what opportunities/benefits does JMP Live create?
JMP Live addresses many headaches for our power users that are most likely to be the first publishers to JMP Live via JMP Public:
- Automation, scheduling reports that need regular updating
- Speed of sharing information
- Increased audience with access to information (removes the obstacle of information consumers without JMP skills)
- Reduces variability, provides a "single version of the truth"
- Up-to-date information, eliminating the question "is this the latest report?"
- The differentiator is not dashboarding, it's the type of data/information people are publishing, and the value in widely distributing that information
Is there an example of a JMP Live demo and presentation?
Here is a recording of a
JMP Live demo , including slides, the demo of JMP Live, Q&A and a debrief on why they presented the way they did. This demo was done in JMP Live 15.1 and highlights some of those features such as comments, notifications, etc. The
slide deck files (translated with notes) are also available.
For a simple, high-level visual description of how JMP Live makes it easy to share findings across an organization, please refer to the JMP Live product page, where we have a 4-step process diagram.
Are there any resources available where i can learn about some of the initial JMP Live sales - wins and losses?
What’s the size of the typical investment this would be required for each of the two categories we normally target - SMB vs. Big companies?
The starting price is for JMP Live is $53,400. We should position JMP as a solution and discuss total JMP footprint in terms of our desktop products as well as JMP Live as a destination to publish and share to. We want to paint the picture that JMP Live is an organizational solution and something that can easily fit into the JMP workflow. Make sure to consider not only the number of people who use and produce JMP reports, but also the number of people who would benefit from accessing their reports – people who need to make decisions based on data (with or without desktop JMP).
What are the pros and cons to where JMP Live is hosted?
When trying to decide on the best option, the customer needs to consider:
- What are their policies is for deploying SaaS software? Do they use physical hardware, private cloud, public cloud, hardware? Hosted vs. On-premise.
- Risk aversion (do they not want data going outside their firewall?).
- Comparing budget vs. IT resources. You can see the cost difference between on-premise vs. hosted
In a sales conversation, who will need to be involved beyond the business user? IT? Enterprise Architects?
Depending on where you are in the sales cycle, I would include anyone from their organization that is normally involved in purchasing enterprise software. This could include IT, purchasing, legal, and even possibly data consumers (who will be reviewing the data), etc.
How can we incorporate JMP Live into our regular sales activities?
- Use the JMP Live Overview Powerpoint in conjunction with your demo.
- Work with your team to identify accounts/champions within those organizations.
- Build a vision in your daily conversations to add value; technology roadmap is a valid business reason for a meeting
- If you're showing HTML5 today, JMP Live is a natural progression
- Show JMP Live at Explorers and Guides demos
- Use one of the following two instances redtriangle and devlive16 for SE demos. More redtriangle information can be found at this redtriangleconfluence page
- Refer to the European Discovery JMP Live Plenary Presentation- Eric Hill and Dan Valente to see what a demo can look like
- Add a link to JMP Live product page in your email signature (use JMP Live email image )
- Put PowerPoint presentations into JMP Public to share during demos, JMP Days
- Roadmap discussions with site administrators, champions, and economic buyers
- Champions: Start here with our JMP advocates that are already sharing info created in JMP
- Site administrators: Add JMP Live to regular touchpoint and renewal communications
- Economic buyers: Get higher in the organization - find out who is concerned with how valuable information is disseminated
- Use JMP Public to publish customer stories, get prospects to interact with JMP Public
- Address the question "Do you have JMP Light" or web enabled version?
Is there anything else I can be doing as a team or individually? YES!!!!!
LICENSING AND PRICING:
How do I get the licensing process started?
Who in an organization will need a JMP Live license?
Those in an organization who need to view/interact with JMP Live reports will need a JMP Live license. Those who are ONLY publishing to JMP Live will not need a JMP Live license.
What is the pricing model and cost of JMP Live?
Current Pricing PageAn Enterprise License Agreement (ELA) of JMP Live is also available. To discuss this t alk to your sales manager.
How is JMP Live packaged?
- The software comes with “free/included” rights to 50 users license. Additional users can be added as a simple upgrade.
- Upgrades are added in blocks of 100 users.
- The software can be deployed on customer hardware and managed by the customer’s IT organization.
- If customers do not want to manage or support JMP Live, JMP can take over hosting, but for an additional fee.
- If a customer wants unlimited use (not counting users), an ELA is available (on-premises only).
- Don’t positionn ELA until you have obtained approval to proceed from your manager.
What if someone leaves the company?
If someone leaves, as with JMP desktop, it can be redeployed.
Do we have key licensing terms?
- Total User metric, so no restrictions of computer capacity (“bigger is better for user performance”).
- “Rules of 1” apply, but we will offer no uplift of fee for adding up to 12 related entities. JMP has right of refusal of entities. JMP management approval is needed to add more than 12 related entities.
- One license of JMP Pro (desktop) is included in for the Primary JMP Representative. The license must be ordered separately
- 3rd Party access: Standard paperwork allows “Viewing of JMP Live reports”, they can view, but not publish.
What if a customer wants to have local JMP Live instances at each site? Would this require each site to have its own JMP Live agreement?
JMP Live is licensed per server. So instead of setting up servers at each site, the better approach would be to install JMP Live centrally and manage access control through groups. If they really want to install JMP Live with multiple publish URLs and not think about counting users, an enterprise license may be an option for them.
If the JMP Primary Rep at the customer is in another territory who from JMP sales gets the credit?
The address on the entity that is governing the license is where the credit goes. We just need to know who the IT person is so we can work with them.
Will we have access to see how many people are using JMP Live if we host?
Yes.
Will we have access to see how many people are using JMP Live if the customer is hosting?
No.
Can a customer’s suppliers use their install of JMP Live?
Yes, provided the supplier has access to their network where their data resides. if so, the supplier can publish using their existing JMP license. If the supplier wants to view the report the customer needs to allocate one of their JMP Live licenses to the supplier.
Does JMP Live’s license allow you to “batch process” data?
All JMP reports published to JMP Live need to be published from the desktop client. We need to be careful about the verbiage we use. We should refer to Desktop JMP licensed for use on server OS as “presentation virtualization”, not “presentation server”. Presentation virtualization is a license to run desktop JMP on a server OS and then access that via application virtualization. Where as JMP Live is an application stack that has the JMP analytic engine, the way of executing reports on-demand with the JMP sessions, the JMP Live web application, and the database for storing and persisting reports that are published. Its not a batch process, it is just executing a JMP script from JMP optionally using the task scheduler.
What are the terms for multi-entity use?
The standard JMP Live license is for one user in one territory; however, upon a customer’s request, language will be added to the license agreement to allow up to 12 named related entities to access JMP Live for the benefit of customer’s and such related entities’ operations anywhere in the world. If the customer would like to permit access by more than 12 related entities, Jon Weisz’s approval is required.
EVALUATIONS/TRIALS/EARLY ADOPTER:
Do we have evaluation options?
Yes. All evals are 90 days and managed by JMP, hosted on AWS. They are up to 50 users. Evals will only be able to use SAS profile for authentication. You need sales management approval to offer an evaluation.
Who can host an evaluation?
Evals will be managed by JMP and hosted on AWS. A customer can not host an evaluation which means we will not be able to:
- Test single-sign on.
- Do a federation between their infrastructure and our infrastructure.
