JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabAs all of us know and estimate, JMP has many powerful and effective features and functions as compared with other analytical software. Nevertheless, I don't know and could not appeal JMP's features and advantages in terms of Reliability as compared with other analytical software, especially Minitab.
Reliability is very important appeal point and selling point automobile and home appliance industiry. I hope to appeal JMP's advantages in reliability as compared with Minitab.
Please let me know your experience and insight.
Thanks in advance

Re: JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabThank you all
After deep review, I would like to give thanks to you again
Re: JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabI confirm Don’s comment. In Germany are lots of Automotive customers and they use by default Minitab. As soon they need to do reliability tasks they try to do this with MT and reach the limit fast but nevertheless it’s the tool of choice as it is the standard here. Others use reliasoft or weibull++ as already mentioned.
For reliability engineers in the automotive industry the defective subgroup distributions are often of interest. Also reliability forecast. However it is not easy to sell the repairable system simulation should be of great interest for that area. But automotive customers also are very price sensitive, therefor you need to find the explicit need and value and convince them that this is about what they should talk otherwise you will loose against minitab’s concurrent license model.

Re: JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabThe reliability engineers using Minitab who I have run into have been from industries in which we are not strong (automotive, in particular). I suspect this is because Minitab is the analytic tool of choice in these industries. In industries where we are strong, semiconductor specifically, Reliasoft products are used.
Re: JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabI second Mike I have never run into a reliability engineer using Minitab. Reliasoft products typically Wiebull++ all the time and those can be hard to displace. Typically when comparing JMP to Minitab I like to highlight what JMP does well. Dynamic linking, graph builder, and partition are all usually winners.
Re: JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabThe Quality, Reliability and Six Sigma Application Area is a good place to start:

Re: JMP's features and advantage in terms of Reliability as compared with MinitabSome may have different experiences, but I can't recall ever running into a reliability engineer that uses Minitab. Reliasoft, sure - all the time. In my territory, I'll find Minitab in places where they brought in 6 Sigma consultants or near universities with programs that use Minitab, but never in reliability. Looking at their documentation (link), there really isn't a comparison. They have some of the same analyses but we definitely have the broader selection of tools.
Best,
