Robert brings a wealth of selling knowledge to the team with a long history of selling CRMs to financial advisors. He spent most of his professional life with Junxure. Fun fact: he was the first employee in 2002 and they had more than 50 employees when they sold the company in 2018. More recently he spent two years at Practifi as their Head of RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) Sales and the last year at Wealthbox as their VP of Enterprise Enterprise Development.
Robert's manager, Briana Codd, asked him a few questions and the answers are below.
1. Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I am an avid outdoors enthusiast – I enjoy camping, hiking, biking, and other activities that take me on adventures from the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah mountains to the Outer Banks with my family and friends.
I love taking long, open-ended, little-planned adventures. My favorite trips were two months backpacking across Europe in 1996 and 30 days in 2017, driving 8,000 miles from Raleigh to San Francisco and back in an RV with my wife and three kids (Cassidy, now 17; Mason, now 16 and Finn, now 12).
You might also find me watching live music (though I haven’t seen as much as I would like recently).
2. Do you have any pets?
Two cats – Parker and Frankie Blue Eyes
3. Are you reading anything right now?
A Conspiracy of Paper by David Liss – about one of the first stock market “bubbles” in 18th Century London.
4. Do you prefer the beach or the mountains?
Mountains
5. How do you like to start your day?
Short hike in the woods out back.
6. What is your favorite thing to do in the area?
Go see live music – I don’t do it often enough anymore
7. What’s one TV show you never get tired of watching?
Jeopardy
8. What’s your ideal way to spend a weekend?
Camping beside a lake
9. Fun fact about you?
I had 204 credit hours from N.C. State when I graduated in 1999. Starting in 1989 (with a break from 1995 through 1998), I switched majors from Computer Science to World Religion to Meteorology, finally graduating with BA in English Literature.
10. Why are you excited about joining JMP?
The Team – This team seems to be filled with interesting and experienced folks from diverse backgrounds who work well together.
