We've been successful with convincing several customers that JMP is better for multivariate analysis than one-trick-pony's like Simca. This is one aspect that was highlighted during a gap analysis by Lotte during that effort. They considered it a high-priority for their long-term vision in using JMP Live.

Is there a competitive software package that has this feature or solution that we should be aware of?
Will this impact a renewal, expansion, or adoption at a customer, and does this put an account at risk if we do not address this?
It's a fairly common question that comes up specifically with Simca. The fact that three customers have asked for this in different contexts and for different reasons suggests it's an improvement that would enhance the ability to use MDMVCC as an alternative to Simca. The addition of the alarm support for Live will further expand the tool's utility as a viable control chart suite for certain applications.

Having automatic notification of out-of-control points in a MDMVCC would be amazing, especially given that many complex processes fail in weird (multivariate) ways that aren't discoverable via traditional control charting. At least one of my customers (US Synthetic) could save hundreds of thousands of dollars (perhaps millions) if MDMVCC warnings worked in JMP Live.
