Data Table Subscripting for Data Table Variables

All, 
     I have a fairly easy question - does data table subscripting support/provide access to data table variables ? 

 

dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Big Class.jmp" ); 
dt << New Table Variable( "Days", 42 ); 

    Now, is there a way to get the data table variable out without doing the following ? 

var = dt << Get Table Variable("Days");
Show(var);

I am not sure what you are really asking for, however, there is a direct way to reference table variables that will bypass the syntax you specified.  You can accomplish your

var = dt << Get Table Variable("Days");
Show(var);

with

show( dt:Days );
