Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowHere's a little puzzle: I'm running a macro that produces various graphs and stats and compiles/arranges them in a final result window. I've written this macros years ago and it always delivered. SInce upgrade to JMP17, I realise however, that one of the graphs has the x-axis offset in the final result window, meaning, the graph's axis does no longer correspond to the graph!?! I've attached a screenshot of the graph (qls) after being written to the report (red square):
rqls = qls << report;
and after the report (rqls) is arranged in a new window together with the other items
New Window ("Duplicates",
Outline Box ("[Project Name] - Duplicate Analysis",
VListBox (
HlistBox (rdis),
VListBox (
HListBox (
VListBox (rbiv),
VListBox (rowy,<STRONG> rqls</STRONG>)
),Bizarrely, the x.axis of the graph has shifted by 3 or 4 units and is now incorrect! The graph window does no longer start at 0, but rather at -4 or so, and my result of 47% has become something like 43%

Any ideas what goes wrong here?
ScriptingRe: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowHave you used the Show Tree Structure or Show Properties commands to see what has changed? Perhaps an invisible display box is shifting the remaining objects to a new position or a property is different now.
How are you building the custom window as far as composition of original objects?
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowI send the graph to report (rqls - see above), then build the rqls report into Vlist or HList Boxes, together with other reports. It worked in v. JMP10- JMP16 without glitch. In JMP17 now, I have an offset of the x-axis. Regardless of arrangement with other windows and/or objects - eg above/below other objects, in a VList or in a HList Box - I've tried various positions and layouts : the x-axis is offset to the graph.
See attached graphs: in the report window "rqls" (JMP_graph_orig) the axis is correct. The graph starts at 0 and ends at 100. The green bar is at 56% (as it should)
Once compiled into a VListBox (or HListBox) with other report windows, the axis is offset. It starts at -4, ends at 96 and the green bar is at 52% (JMP_graph_without axis title). This can be slightly improved by changing the y-axis title (JMP_graph with axis title), to start at -2, ending at 98 and green bar at 54%. I haven't been able yet to fiddle with the axis title so that the x-axis is NOT offset. Perhaps by changing axis title font size or making it bold, I can finally make the x-axis sitting correctly...?!?
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new window
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowSeems to be fixed in the man time.
What version of JMP are you using?
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowJMP17
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowyou could try to install JMP18 in parallel.
There are many additional features - and the update is free of charge : )
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new window@Mark_Bailey
may i know if a verified solution is found
or if the solution recommended here could be facilitated
Re: Graph x-axis offset when report embedded in new windowdownload the free JMP18.1 update?
To "verify" if the update also solves your issue,
could you please use one of the data sets from the sample folder and share a script where you see an issue on your system.
Then somebody can run the code with JMP18.1 and check ...
