Many scientists are sure they understand their processes, and to a certain degree, they do. However, the edge cases always cause problems, and this is where our understanding of our processes can often break down. As per Murphy's law, it's also something that tends to occur at the most inopportune moments. In this presentation, you will hear strategies used to identify all the levers in a process, assess and understand their importance and effect, and how to use the statistics built into JMP to identify the intangible factors you still need to consider. You will also see a case study on an issue with a classic analytical method that led to random batch failures, how it was investigated, and how JMP was used to identify the highly unlikely cause.
