Level: Beginner

[Presentation overview]
Since 2020, Nippon Shokubai has been working to develop data science human resources for experimental researchers with the aim of speeding up research and development. By adopting JMP as a standard tool, which is easy to handle even for statistics beginners, and by comprehensive measures that include not only method training but also practical support, various use cases are currently being raised.
However, while there were successful cases, there were also voices saying, "It didn't go according to the exercise" and "I don't know where I went wrong." We thought it was important to experience a series of initiatives starting from designing a problem, rather than just practicing with pre-made data such as sample data.
Fly Ball Simulator is a great add-in for JMP that teaches the Plan, Execute, Analyze, Improve PDCA cycle in a hands-on way. The feature is that the level design can be freely set by the designer, and this time, we have developed experimental design experience content assuming situations that materials development researchers are likely to face.
In this presentation, we will introduce our efforts to develop human resources and the educational content developed with the fly ball simulator. We will also introduce the "JMP Trainers Study Group" sponsored by SAS in creating educational content.
[Profile of the presenter]
He specializes in macromolecular mesosimulation and has been engaged in data science work since 2018. Through data analysis, we support data-driven decision-making in materials research and production. Since 2020, he has been involved in the education and dissemination of in-house data scientists, and has conducted lectures using JMP (material formulation design, experiment planning, production data analysis, etc.) and in-house LT.
Recently, he has been participating in the JMP Trainers Study Group sponsored by SAS, and is focusing on developing experiential educational content.
