Jed Campbell (@Jed_Campbell) joins JMP after 23 years at US Synthetic, which manufactures industrial diamonds. Jed originally started working there to get through college, where he studied English Teaching, Philosophy, and French. Upon graduation, Jed realized that Lean Manufacturing was more exciting than teaching High School, and he filled several roles at US Synthetic, ranging from production leadership to training, finally finding his home as Quality Director, a position he relished for nearly 13 years.
During his time working in Quality, he earned an MBA, led a team that earned a Shingo Prize, became a Master Black Belt in Six Sigma, taught many engineers and scientists how to solve problems using JMP, and even presented a few times at Discovery Summit.
Realizing that he loved the data portion of his job the best, Jed decided to join the JMP team this year. His interactions with the people at JMP made his decision much easier. From working with Mia Stephens (@mia_stephens) and Julian Parris (@julian) on academic opportunities, doing a fun customer story, taking classes from Di and Mark, meeting people at Discovery, to constant interactions with Don McCormack (@DonMcCormack), Chris Kirchberg (@Chris_Kirchberg), Dara Hammond (@dara_hammond), Scott Wise (@scwise), Jason Wiggins (@Jason_Wiggins) and Connor Oscannlain (@conoro) — each interaction with the people at JMP helped Jed understand that, not only is JMP software world-class, but JMP culture is also world-class.
When he’s not thinking about data and analytics, Jed can usually be found either playing in the mountains or deserts of Utah, making wooden things in his workshop, playing guitar, or just hanging out in general with his family.
