This page features a video introducing the new features of the latest version, JMP 17, released in October 2022.
JMP 17-related announcements at JMP Discovery Summit Japan 2022
We have compiled the presentations by our staff and the developer's staff at the event held on November 17 and 18, 2022. Some presentations provide presentation materials, JMP data, and journals. Please watch any features that interest you.
The following presentation is a Japanese translation of the original English presentation.
December 2022 Update
In JMP Pro 17, the Functional Data Explorer can now perform data preprocessing (smoothing, first and second derivatives, etc.) and wavelet model fitting for spectral data. For an overview of the Functional Data Explorer and various examples including spectral data, please see the following page.
Overview of Functional Data Explorer: Functional Principal Component Analysis and Various Use Cases
Loading data
- Loading from OSI Pi Server (3 minutes 34 seconds)
- Loading by specifying start and end times
- Loading raw and plot data
- Specify column type (numeric, text) in Excel Import Wizard (2 minutes 26 seconds)
- When loading Excel, you can specify whether to load columns as numbers or characters.
- For numeric types, you can specify the display format (number of digits, percentage, etc.).
Graph Builder
- Setting and customizing levels (3 minutes 19 seconds)
- Set the display order of categorical variables in Graph Builder.
- Categories with the highest frequency and lowest frequency can be grouped together.
- One-sided error bar display (2 minutes 7 seconds)
- When plotting a bar graph of the mean ± standard deviation (error), only the upper error bar can be displayed.
- Displaying statistics in a table (2 minutes 10 seconds)
- In Graph Builder, you can display summary statistics on the axes along with each group graph.
- Support for multiple response sequences (4 minutes 27 seconds)
- How to handle multiple response sequences in JMP
- Creating graphs and groupings with multiple response columns in Graph Builder
- Compact display of Japan map (1 minute 50 seconds)
- When drawing a map of Japan in Graph Builder, the position of Okinawa and Hokkaido can be moved to make the map more compact.
Creating a Table
- How to combine multiple columns into one column for a table created in Create Table.
- Useful for expressions such as N(%) and mean ± standard deviation.
- Setting the ID column (5:47)
- A method of tallying up the percentage of all respondents who chose a particular option when data on an ID (such as a survey respondent or test subject) appears multiple times as the subject of a survey.
- For specific adverse events, the number of subjects who experienced them and the incidence rate (number of subjects who experienced them / number of subjects) were calculated.
analyze
- Passing-Bablok regression (2 minutes 7 seconds)
- A method to compare two different measurement methods
- Bland-Altman analysis (3 minutes 26 seconds)
- Matched Pairs Options
- Add lower and upper limits of the tolerance range on the graph
- Partial correlation diagram (3 minutes 2 seconds)
- Can be run as an option in "Multivariate Correlation"
- Combinations with high partial correlation can be adjusted by adjusting color intensity, width, and transparency.
- Improved Response Screening (2:55)
- View reports in tab format
- Creating a Volcano Plot
- Laney Attribute Control Chart (3 minutes 40 seconds)
- Improved version of the P and U charts, which are attribute control charts
- Considering overdispersion, use moving range to calculate σ
- Improved "Curve Fitting" (3 minutes 50 seconds)
- Data formats are becoming more flexible
- Added 19 new nonlinear models
- Dissolution curve analysis (3 minutes and 14 seconds)
- F2 analysis can now be performed to compare two dissolution curves in pharmaceutical development.
- A confidence interval was constructed for the F2 estimate using the bootstrap method to determine the similarity of the two dissolution curves.
JMP Pro ⇒ JMP
Previously, this function was only available in JMP Pro, but in JMP 17 it is now available in JMP.
- Accurate Testing(4 minutes 24 seconds)
- Fisher exact test for crosstabulations larger than 2 x 2
- Exact test for kappa coefficient (consistency statistic)
- One-click boot strap(3 minutes 13 seconds)
- Right-click on a statistic in the report to perform a bootstrap test on the statistic
- Display of bootstrap distribution (histogram), calculation of bootstrap confidence interval (BC method)
- One-click simulation(8 minutes 10 seconds)
- Right-click on a statistic in a report to run a random number simulation
- Calculating statistical power through simulation and calculating confidence intervals for estimates
JMP Pro
- Generalized Linear Mixed Models(5 minutes 44 seconds)
- Generalized linear mixed models can be selected as the "fit model" method
- Logistic regression and Poisson regression with random effects can be performed.
