JMP DOE versus Design Expert<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" />

We have a customer looking to differentiate the JMP DOE platform versus  Design Expert.  Having never used Design Expert, I was hoping someone out there has done a comparison or can share what they know that makes the JMP DOE platform standout versus Design Expert.

I have just been asked by a customer for a document outlining the differences between Design Expert and JMP for DoE. I see this question came up a while back. Do we have anything more recent now?

One other thing that I recall that DE is certainly has a large Mixture DOE presence although the gap was closed significantly a couple of versions ago and the Mixture Profiler was a great addition by John Sall.

Hi,

I went from Design Expert to JMP when working at Fujifilm. I would agree with all of this. But if I had to pick one single thing then it would be the prediction profiler: how it allows you to visualise the model, communicate important interactions (contrast with a verbal explanation of interactions!) and understand how variability in output can be reduced with Monte Carlo simulation.

Thanks Lou and William for the documents and your input.   Besides the differences Lou points and based only on what I could see, I would say that JMP's graphing and visualization capabilities are much better than DE.

Bill,

Bottom line discussion should focus on JMP being a full service analytics package, data mining, quality, DOE, reliability etc for Root Cause, Capability, DOE, SPC etc. versus a DOE only package. Attached is something that may be helpful but possibly dated?
