Post Subject: JMP16 reduced capability as compared to JMP14 (customizing Variability plots)
Post Body:
Is anyone aware of how to do this type of customization to variability plots in JMP16?
We no longer are given access to the individual NomAxisBox entries in JMP16, so this seems impossible. It is very disappointing considering that some column names can be very, very long, to such an extent that the column name label can be wider than the plot. Putting the column name within the damn axes boxes is just much more intuitive, it's surprising that JMP makes this so difficult.
This works in JMP14
Names Default To Here( 1 );
dt = Open( "$SAMPLE_DATA/Variability Data/2 Factors Crossed.jmp" );
dt:"part#"n << Set Name( "Really_Ridiculously_Long_Name_That_Users_Want_To_See" );
New Window( "Test",
olb = Outline Box( "",
Variability Chart(
Ignore Platform Preferences( 1 ),
Std Dev Chart( 0 ),
Y( :Measurement ),
X( :Operator, :Really_Ridiculously_Long_Name_That_Users_Want_To_See )
)
)
);
olb[Text Box( 2 )] << Delete;
olb[Text Box( 2 )] << Delete;
olb[NomAxisBox( 1 )] << Sib Append( Border Box( Sides( 14 ), H Center Box( Text Box( "Really_Ridiculously_Long_Name_That_Users_Want_To_See", <<Set Font Style( "Bold" ), <<Set Base Font( "Heading" ) ) ), <<Background Color( "Light Gray" ) ) ) << Sib Append( Spacer Box() );
olb[NomAxisBox( 2 )] << Sib Append( Border Box( Sides( 14 ), H Center Box( Text Box( "Operator", <<Set Font Style( "Bold" ), <<Set Base Font( "Heading" ) ) ), <<Background Color( "Light Gray" ) ) ) << Sib Append( Spacer Box() );
to produce this:

as opposed to the default view:

Body text "damn" matched filter pattern "damn".
