“Our business infrastructure has made a lot of advances in the last quarter. New people, new business systems coming together. The big news this week is flat prices going public.”
John also reflected on interesting encounters with customers at the recent Discovery Summit Americas. “It’s always good to connect with customers, especially in person,” he said.
He enjoyed learning about their interesting, high-impact work. John shared that JMP customer PHYZZ makes a nutritious soda with fiber supplied by ADM, another JMP customer. And he learned that Exxon, also a JMP customer, supplies specialty chemicals for the protective fiber material in most high-end masks and PPE in the US.
“I'm looking forward to meeting each and every one of you and working with you. I’m incredibly excited about what we’re going to do together here at JMP,” Anissa said. We are too, Anissa!
Understanding our customers
Sales Manager Dara Hammond explained how the Global Premier Team has been working with their largest customers throughout the last year. She encouraged everyone to ask how your customers like to be supported.
Resources include:
- Hadley Myers’ blog post on the Analytic Workflow
- The Workflow Assessment, which Jon Weisz called “quite a proven tool to help customers understand how they’re using JMP and getting value.” For example, Seagate sent out the assessment and received nearly 400 responses. The company used this information to map out areas of focus for continuing education.
- Updated Analytic Workflow resources will be shared in an upcoming training October 18.
Dara emphasized the importance of taking time to focus. “Give yourself permission to spend time researching your company and support. Don’t be tricked into the busy work, responding to email immediately … Dig into the internet and try to learn some things about that company.”
YTD results
Sr. Finance Director Jason Romanos shared the numbers:
- SEP YTD Actual: $89.44M
- SEP YTD Target: $89.7M
- Target achieved: 99.7%
“There’s not very many companies that can say that we are, after nine months of hard work and effort … at almost 100% of what we had planned back in the winter of last year,” said Jason.
He added that changes in pricing “will play a huge part in what happens in the fourth quarter and also for 2023 onwards."
A glimpse of My JMP

Watch the demo of My JMP at 27:30. It won’t take long.
“I was relieved I only had five minutes because that’s how simple this system is,” John joked. “We can demo in five minutes how the customer will get their software and license file.”
Please be sure to read Jeff Perkinson’s reply to the latest JMP Report, regarding who will be directed to My JMP to get software.
Jon Weisz concluded with a rally for Q4. “We’ve got JMP 17, a brand new JMP Live, brand new JMP and JMP Pro. Talk to your customers, go through the analysis of how they’re using our products and how they could be using them. And work on account expansion, especially in Q4.”
