10 October: Improving Manufacturing Performance with Cutting-Edge Predictive Analytics
The event will be held in Toulouse (France) and live-streamed in English to all Europe.
Speakers: Cy Wegman and Ian Cox
Our external speaker Cy Wegman is President and Founder of SY64, LLC an analytics consulting firm specializing in statistical modelling, optimization and design of experiments.
Attendees will learn to:
- Drive improvement opportunities and decisions from statistical models, not anecdotes.
- Reduce your hidden factory by making better use of data to identify problems and their causes.
- Find relationships from prior data consisting of many noisy variables.

10 October: Statistical Discovery in Quality Engineering
The event will be held in Toulouse (France) and live-streamed in English to all Europe.
Speakers: François Bergeret and Ian Cox
François Bergeret, PhD in statistics, founder of Ippon Innovation and co-author of Statistical process control - principles and industrial cases. He provides consulting in metrology, statistics and modelling, design of experiments, statistical process control and the management of industrial process improvement projects. He is also a lecturer at the University of Toulouse, the INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) and the ISAE (Institut Supérieur de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace). His professional experience includes 15 years in industry at Motorola and Freescale as a statistician, quality control manager and zero fault champion. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt.
Attendees will learn how to:
- Decide if the measurements you make are actually fit for purpose, or just noise.
- Simply monitor or control processes, even when there are multiple sources of variation.
- Expedite troubleshooting using a blend of visualization and analysis to rapidly identify root causes, even for difficult problems.
- Correctly identify which responses have actually changed after a process intervention.
- Simply and easily communicate your findings to build consensus in engineering and management.

Trial Videos available in several languages
There have been requests to make the videos that are available in the JMP 14 trial to also be more sharable outside the product – to be used as a post-trial follow-up/reminder and for users who are trying to familiarize themselves with the basics of JMP. The JMP Paper Helicopter Challenge

Experiment with paper helicopters and win a drone. Not you, that is, because SAS employees can’t win. But we are challenging the readers of Chemistry World (RCS) , CHEManager and CHIMEA (Swiss Chemical Society) to join the fun and learn about Design of Experiments in the process. We also promote this campaign heavily through social media, so do like and share what you find with #jmphelicopter and feel free you play and share yourself.
Sales teams in Europe will receive print copies of the helicopter challenge to distribute during customer meetings. Deadline to enter the competition is July 12.
