Mention platforms or functionsI'm not sure how user-friendly this would be, but I was thinking it might be neat to mention platforms, functions, and other common JMP items. This might make it easier to search for them later as they are always named the same, and users could look through a list of all of the times a platform was mentioned in different forums, blogs, etc.
Re: Mention platforms or functionsI think I had a bit similar idea at some point (maybe it was this post Re: What content would serve as a useful resource to better use JMP? ) hoping that you could tag JMP Help or Scripting Index from community. Now it takes a bit of time to first open scripting index, search for function/platform, click help, go to help, copy paste link, format link for community...
Also tagging is lacking so something like @ih suggested could make it a bit more useful
Re: Mention platforms or functionsYes! That would be neat if the page presented when a user clicks on a @mention had links to documentation, a web version of what is in the scripting index, recent posts mentioning the platform or function, top kudoed posts or otherwise pinned posts mentioning the platform, and wish list list items mentioning the platform as well. A sort of home page for that function.
I agree with @jthi that the attempts to clean up and better utilize tags and labels are hard (but valuable), but this would be be straight forward and easier. We would would a few examples of mentioning things to show up next to the screen where users enter a message. I wonder if the combination of tags and labels with these mentions would actually provide more value, for example I always struggle to answer whether a post relates to JMP, JMP Pro, and JMP Clinical (usually it is all three), but this could eliminate that need.
