Categorical> Filter> a recall button on the local data filter to be reapplied on new reports

a “Recall” button on the Local Data Filter of the Categorical results window.  I find myself using a lot of the same "starting point" filters, so I pull up the Global Data Filter instead and jump between the 2 windows.  It would be nice to have it all contained on 1 window (without having to pull up the same filters over and over) due to frequency of use.  Again, global filter is a workaround, but its critical to know that Global Filter applications are not defined in reports. If using global filter, then need to modify every single report uniquely.

There are several workarounds with JSL and a universal filter that can save preferences.

I wonder whether with JMP 14's projects ability if a Global Data Filter could be docked to a panel, and then use the tabbed environment to launch multiple instances of Categorical, but all using the common Global Data Filter. In this way all of the Categorical instances are using the same Data Filter, and yet that Data Filter is docked to all of those Categorical windows at the same time.

 

This may be a training opportunity, worth discussing further as we get closer to 14.
