Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20It would be nice to have an option to request exact test for the Wilcoxon Signed Rank test, even for n>20 where a 1970's-era approximation is currently used instead. We have colleagues who are running into collaborators/experts outside P&G who are using the exact Wilcoxon test and our P&G people are unable to replicate the analysis with JMP.
Generally it looks like we are talking about wanting the exact calc for sample sizes in the 20-35 range, but I imagine that simply changing the cutoff may still bring the problem back in the future. Being able to trigger the exact test by red triangle (with a warning that much time may be required, or a time estimate of how long it might take) would be helpful.

Statistics and AnalyticsRe: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20Update from J. Handt who continues to ask about this.
A JMP-contact stated once that their algorithm for >20 would be “more conservative” than by other programs. It doesn’t seem so to me based on the table.

Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20 - Status changed to: Investigating@mjoner we are taking this under consideration. Thanks for this feature request.
Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n>20Hi again, can we get any movement on this feature request? Or even JSL code that implements it if it can't be part of mainline JMP?
Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20 - Status changed to: Yes, Stay Tuned! This feature is planned for JMP 18.1
Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20 - Status changed to: DeliveredRe: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20Hi,
I can't tell when this last "delivered" status change was posted, but could you provide details about the JMP version, the platform I can find it, and any restrictions on its implementation?
We have been discussing this topic for the past 2 weeks. Thanks!
Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20Hi,
In Oneway Platform we find the Wilcoxon Exact Test but it seems to be there only for 2 Sample and it mostly doesn't run for Sample Sizes >15.
In the Matched Pairs Platform there is only the asymptotic Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test available which might be ok for bigger sample sizes >25.
The Wilcoxon Exact Test for paired data I am missing in general in JMP Pro 19.

Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20 - Status changed to: DeliveredHi @hengehold_da1 , this change was delivered in JMP Pro 18.1, and is available in JMP Pro 19 for Oneway and Contingency.
See Exact Tests these pages, which describe the available options:
https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/19.1/#page/jmp/contingency-platform-options.shtml
https://www.jmp.com/support/help/en/19.1/#page/jmp/the-oneway-platform-options.shtml
A cancellable progress bar is provided for large sample sizes.

Re: Provide option for exact Wilcoxon Signed Rank even for n > 20Hi Mia. I could be missing it, but I don't think that the contingency/1-way platforms apply. I only found Fisher's Exact test and Exact Kappa in contingency and the Wilcoxon's Rank Sum Exact test in 1-way. What we are asking about is the Exact version of Wilcoxon's Signed Rank test for paired data. It should be in the Matched Pairs platform if available. Thanks!
