Features review
“There are always several things in a new release that make it hard, if not impossible, to go back to a previous version,” says Dan Valente (@Daniel_Valente), Manager of the Product Management team.
JMP 17 is no outlier. There are eight major improvements that will drive our users to want to upgrade. The sales and marketing toolkit provides high-level information for conversations with customers who might be interested in the problems that these features solve and the value they provide.
You’ll find the following information about each major improvement:
- What it does
- Benefits
- Target industries
- Target titles/personas
- Keywords/phrases to listen for
- Qualifying questions
- Email templates (coming)
- Resources

The new features page (jmp.com/new) shows off top features coming soon. Translation of this page is in progress. The call to action, a “Talk to a JMP team member” button, leads to a form, dropping contact information into the JMP 17 inquiry Salesforce campaign.
The New in JMP 17 page will link to JMPer Cable blogs when they are published. If you have a JMP 17-related blog topic in mind, reach out to Communications Manager Landra Cunningham (@Landra_C). Anne Milley (@anne_milley), Senior Director of Analtyics Strategy, reports we’ll have more than a dozen quotes from global customers like W.L. Gore, Seagate and P&G on a variety of capabilities for use on social media, PowerPoint slides, the press release and more.
When JMP 17 is here, we’ll let people know in the following ways:
- Our social media channels
- Announcement posts available for JMP employees in SAS Social Hub (VoiceStorm)
- Communications to software admins, subscribers and users with an annual license
Sales best practices
“A new release presents us with the opportunity to find more people to talk to with a valid business reason that ultimately leads to selling more JMP,” says Krystal Barnes (@krystalbarnes2), Senior Inside Sales Account Representative.
“With each version release we extend our reach wider within an organization,” explains AE Tony Cesano (@TonyCesano). “Our goal is to understand why [the organization hasn’t] standardized on JMP yet.”
This training shares perspectives from AEs, SEs and IS on best practices. For example:
- Why the roll out strategy is all about showing how JMP can help customers save time, save money and become more efficient.
- How to identify values of the features and make a plan to show them off.
- Ideas for connecting and engaging with customers, recently licensed customers and prospects.
