I’m looking for an answer to this and not sure if there is an easy JMP solution. I have two formulas in JMP, each have two X variables. I can make surface plots of these in JMP easy enough and I can visually see that the two planes (well, curved planes) intersect.
I’d like to determine the line that defines the location of the intersection, and if possible get the angle of intersection (tangent planes to both surfaces at the location of the intersection) in the X1 direction.
I see Profiler-based solutions in JMP if the two formulas are based on one X variable. This can be done by subtracting the two formulas from each other and use desirability to match-target to zero to get the intersection point as shown in https://community.jmp.com/t5/Discussions/How-can-I-calculate-the-intersection-point-of-two-functions-in/m-p/12588. But my problem doesn’t result in an intersection point but rather in an intersection line.
If there’s an easy solution, great. If not, I should be able to solve it with other software.
