JMP Live is already a good platform for quasi-real time SPC. Control charts can be updated at any desired frequency by running a script on a schedule.
SPC users usually want to be notified by email only when control charts throw alarms. Right now, JMP Live can't quite do this. Users can get an email notification whenever a JMP Live report is updated by bookmarking the report and choosing their notification settings. But this notification occurs whether or not the chart throws alarms.
To make alarm notification possible in JMP Live, all that is necessary is to add jsl commands for controlling notifications. The bare minimum that is needed would be an option to publish "silently" -- no notifications triggered. These notifications could be richer if there was an opportunity to customize the email text via jsl as well.
Here's the envisioned script workflow:
-Hit the Database to import the current data, clean up / transform as necessary
-Run a Control Chart
-If the Control Chart has no alarms, publish the updated Control Chart to JMP Live silently. No notifications should be sent.
-If the Control Chart has alarms, publish with a customized notification message that contains details about the number and type of alarms.
@mia_stephens Should this be set to "Delivered"? It looks like it got flipped back to "Open for Voting"
We also covered the new Control Chart warnings in JMP Live in @saradoudt's JMP 16 Sales Tool Kit.
A demo of this was also covered in the JMP 16 Preview
And I wrote a blog post on this as well. As @Aurora_TiffanyD mentioned, please let us know any feedback you get from customers about this addition to the platform.
@Jordan_Hiller happy to help! Do let us know, as you start to use the feature, whether there is anything we should refine in future versions!
Yahoo! Love this feature @Aurora_TiffanyD , thanks!!!
