Exporting a model from JMP to XMLDoes anyone have experience doing this? Or have any customers who have done this?
I have a customer who is interested in taking model coefficients from a model built in JMP and exporting them to XML for ingestion in their cloud scoring solution.
Thank you in advance.
Re: Exporting a model from JMP to XMLDo they have a schema or data standard to describe how to store model in XML? Are they using PMML? I am sure this is scriptable, but not sure of the effort required.
Re: Exporting a model from JMP to XMLThey are not using PMML. I think they are looking for a way JMP users could easily upload model coefficients into their web-based scoring solution and that current way is uploading an XML file. Thanks for your response, Sam.
Re: Exporting a model from JMP to XMLThere are several questions to ask the customer:
- Which platform? Platforms behaves differently. For some, one gets estimates from an organic JSL message to the platform object. For some, the only way is to get off the numbers from a table in the report.
- Which platform, again? This times, it is to determine what model. Does their online scoring system has the SAME model? This SAME, includes issues like parameterization. Even simple linear regression, the other side may not have the same parameterization that is used in JMP, when categorical variables are involved. And in many cases, JMP centers X, does their system do the same? If their system codes the model differently, the parameters from JMP are garbage to them.
- How do they plan to "upload"? This is purely technical, e.g. how do they communicate between JMP and their system. It depends on whether JMP knows how to communicate with their system.
- Message structure? This is the XML structural part, which is probably the easiest problem among all.
