Is it possible to invoke JMP by a external app?
Hi experts,
In our case, we would like to invoke JMP execution (that's okay with any version of JMP) with a JSL program from a Linux server which we have installed python 3.7. Is it possible for us to do that in any way like web services, APIs or other protocol approaches?
Any insight on it will be appreciated.
Thanks.
OtherScriptingRe: Is it possible to invoke JMP by a external app? With windows you can run command-line command like
"C:\Program Files\SAS\JMPPRO\16\jmp.exe" "C:\Program Files\SAS\JMPPRO\16\Samples\Scripts\InteractiveDemos\ConfidenceIntervalforPopulationMean.jsl"
so I would guess you could use same idea. Start the .jsl file with //! (and in the end it might be good idea to have Exit(No Save);).
Can JMP run JMP? might be also a good read

Since the thread originated from a JMP employee it does not belong in the Discussions board, so the thread was moved here, along with jthi's response. This board is not accessible to non-JMP employees and jthi can no longer see his reply or any further responses here.
Re: Is it possible to invoke JMP by a external app?@linyuhong we discourage people from doing this. JMP was not built to be called by other programs and (from my understanding) the error reporting/logging capabilities may not capture potential issues. Yes, it can be done but, no it is a potentially bad idea.
