August 2, 4, 9, 11
JMP software provides the world's leading companies the tools to drive experimentation more efficiently, ensure consistent quality, and so much more - all without needing to code.
Whether you’re in drug discovery, process development, manufacturing quality, or clinical studies, this 4-session series will provide you the tips, tricks and best practices to take your discoveries to the next level.
Who should attend: Researchers, scientists, data scientists, statisticians, analysts, and process and product development professionals in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries, or other relevant industries.
Session 1: Working with Scientific Data
August 2
Though it may not always be easy to see it from behind the lab door, your discoveries bring science to patients in need. You need a tool that allows you to interact with the data just as you would with the samples or patients from which your data comes from. With JMP, you can easily import and prepare your data to build the visualizations that allow you to explore how well your compound, biologic, or technology interacts with disease targets to build that future faster.
In this session you'll learn how to:
- Get data into JMP from various file formats
- Align the data format and structure to match the analysis
- Review your data for accuracy
Interactively create informative figures in JMP’s sketchpad

Session 2: Essential Statistical Methods for Scientists
August 4
Is unpurified yield related to cell density? Is pH level impacting how temperature affects functional group activation, and, if so, to what extent? Are any of the treatment dose groups different from the placebo group? Questions like these need appropriate analytic tools to support the corresponding decisions. In this session, you'll explore some fundamental tools used to address everyday questions like these in the pharma and biotech space. Plus, The Profiler. Capital letters deserved – come and see why!
In this session you'll learn how to:
- Define expected variability via confidence and tolerance intervals
- Test outcome levels against a target value and compare group means (t-tests & ANOVA)
- Explore relationships among two or more process components
Interactively explore relationships and identify process settings which optimize outcomes
Register for August 4th
Session 3: Design of Experiments (DOE) Basics for Custom Designs
August 9
Perhaps you’re in R&D and looking for tools to improve formulation speed to market; or maybe you’re in CMC and troubleshooting possible batch failures proactively. Whatever your analytical needs, JMP’s tools for Design of Experiments (DoE) can help. Learn how to make better-informed decisions about what’s moving the needle at lower cost (time is money too, by the way!) by designing efficient experiments with JMP.
In this session you'll learn how to:
- Create a design to fit your situation and resources
- Select the process components and their ranges for analysis
- Define the process relationships to include for active learning
Interpret and interactively explore the analytic results
Register for August 9th
Session 4: Chemistry Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) Statistics
August 11
We all aspire to have "routine" days like these - your manufacturing process is in control and reports reflecting this consistency are generated effortlessly. Of course, too often your enemy, variability, makes an appearance. Luckily, JMP provides tools to help you easily monitor your process and understand when unexpected variability finds its way into the system. You’ll also find tools needed to establish trust with your customers and ensure that you’ve got the process variability in check and are meeting their indicated specifications. Learn how to build trust and how to recognize and combat variability.
In this session you'll learn how to:
- Monitor variability over time in your processes
- Establish metrics for how well you are meeting customer expectations
Screen processes for low hanging fruit of where to focus energies first.
