Where can I find JMP success story content and resources?
What is the process for recruiting one of my customers to be featured in a JMP success story?
- Discuss the idea informally with the JMP champion or other key JMP user to determine whether they are interested in participating. Please refer to the attached document for an overview of the customer reference program and why success stories add value for our customers.
- If they agree – or at least are interested in learning more – reach out to Meg Eberle to figure out next steps. Typically, the next step will be to send an introductory email putting Meg in touch with your customer, but it’s important to verify the timing first. And it’s helpful if you can provide a brief overview of who the champion is, what their role in the company is and (very generally) how they’re using JMP.
- Once an introduction has been made, Meg will take it from there.
What if the customer has concerns about proprietary information?
- Customers may ask about the approval process for success stories. Please let them know that we are not seeking an endorsement and that we will not publish anything without their explicit permission. They will be given ample opportunity to review and revise drafts – and provide a final approval.
- If needed, Meg will work directly with the customer’s PR/communications team to ensure that all corporate conventions are met and policies followed.
- When in doubt, put the customer in contact with Meg.
Who makes for a good success story candidate?
- Any company recognized as a leader in their industry.
- Companies, organizations or individuals who are using JMP in ways that align with our values: environmentalism and efforts to combat climate change, sustainability, human and civil rights, scientific discovery and innovation, public health and wellness.
- Any JMP user who is eager to share ROI.
- JMP users who present at Discovery Summit, participate in JMP user groups, post in the Community or JMP Public, etc., are excellent candidates.
Are there customers we need to avoid featuring in success stories?
- Yes. We do not want to feature companies and/or individuals involved in efforts that run counter to our values.
- This includes: most oil & gas companies, tobacco and fire arms manufacturers, companies with a history of pollution, companies with a history of unethical corporate practices.
- Note that we try to avoid featuring individual consultants or JMP partners unless they have a particularly valuable use case and can secure approval from a client to use their name in the story. A good example would be this story about Ferring Pharmaceuticals that also featured consultants from NNE.
What does the process involve? How much time and effort will be required of the customer?
- Customer story interviews can be done virtually via Teams or during on-site visits.
- Most virtual interviews last around 1 hour.
- Customers will be provided with a list of interview questions in advance. They will be invited to provide feedback or request changes to the questions if needed.
- Interviews will be recorded for notetaking purposes only. A transcript will be used to quote customers more accurately.
- If interviews with customers are done on-site, we may also talk to the customer about bringing a photographer along to capture images.
- Discovery Summits and JMP user group meetings are an ideal time to schedule in-person interviews.
A customer sees value in a success story but, due to the organization’s policy, cannot share their story publicly. Is it possible to create a success story for their internal use only?
- Yes, but only if there is a good business case for doing so.
- Please contact Meg to discuss.
