Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph BuilderI think it should be possible to add custom axis breaks to the Graph Builder, in the same way it is often possible in other graphing software like Origin Lab.
At the moment, producing a good display for continuous X-axis data with X-axis grouping is quite involved. For example: if we have continuous timestamps over multiple days, but the data goes only for one hour during each day, but you still want the graph to show the course during a single day.

Basic Data Analysis and ModelingData Exploration and VisualizationRe: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph BuilderThis functionality is a must for sensor data. For example, Grafana is now supporting this feature.
I can see this being built in graph-builder by default.

There is already a wishlist related to this need, as this is not something easy to do in JMP.

Re: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph Builder - Status changed to: AcknowledgedRe: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph BuilderTo restrict the time range like in Graphana ...

one can use a combination of X-Group and date/time wrap in JMP:
Input: Time series data

X-Group: day

Date/Time Wrap: Day

adjust the range:

Re: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph BuilderIn manufacturing, we often encounter arbitrary events that should be excluded from visualizations. For example, periods when a specific measurement falls below a defined value, indicating that the equipment was out of service.

This is option possible under the Control Chart Builder, but not in graph builder.

Re: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph Builder
Re: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph BuilderWhere is that option?

Re: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph Builderwell hidden behind "shift" : )
CTRL/Alt/Shift + click/select/double click/right click
Re: Add easily configurable axis breaks to the Graph BuilderHm, "Show Excluded rows" (a) works different from "Show excluded region" (b).
(a) is used to add excluded data points to a plot.
(b) is used to remove regions with no data from the x axis of a run chart.
(b) is now very easy in JMP19: create a virtual index column for the X axis via Col Rank(:row, @ Exclude, @Filter):
