Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIHi all,
I've got a customer looking to connect JMP to their Labguru ELN system to JMP. From a look at the documentation for their REST API (Labguru API Documentation), it appears that this should be feasible, but I was wondering if anyone has seen this setup used in the wild, or could advise further?
Thanks
Stuart
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIWe are still moving forward as planned with the general purpose data connectors framework in JMP 18, which will allow us to write custom data connectors as well as customers to specify them for those sources that we do not deliver "out of the box". Snowflake is planned for JMP 18 and we are currently interviewing for an R&D position to support this effort. We do not have plans in JMP 18 to ship a BIOVIA connector, but as @DonMcCormack has said, using HTTP Request, the customer should be able to work with the rest API in JMP 17, so this is still how I would advise this customer.
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST API@Daniel_Valente I just had a customer asking if the connection to BIOVIA would work. Is that the case for JMP 17 (or going to be the case for JMP 18)?
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIKeep us posted on this. We are planning priorities for JMP 18 with regard to data connectors. We've had some requests for BIOVIA and other ELNs.
The goal would be for the most popular data sources that Scientists and Engineers have in their orgs would be similar to a File -> Open procedure.
This is similar to what we've done for access to sources like Google Sheets and OSIsoft Pi. And plans for Presto, Snowflake and others in 18.
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIThis is a timely post as we had a user asking about connecting JMP to an ELN just yesterday. I would be interested to learn more about any known customer connections to an ELN system. Any thoughts, ideas, or information would be very much appreciated.
Best,
Bill
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIThanks @DonMcCormack - this is exactly as I thought. I'll update if they get it working well for future reference!
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIIt would be helpful if they had someone on staff who knew or was interested in JSL. In my experience, even if the API is well documented, it will take a bit of code (and probably some trial and error) to connect to and extract the data of interest. There appears to be a fairly large number of endpoints. You'd probably want an interface to be able to deploy data access to non-scripters. Alternatively, they could bring in a JMP partner to create something for them.
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIHi, Roche has Signals ELN notebooks and want to connect/interface with JMP. They will come to Discovery Europe 2024 in March in Manchester. Is anyone willing to talk to them about the options and roadmap of data connectors @Daniel_Valente @briancorcoran @SamGardner
I could either take one of the two spots I got as strategic team for a special meeting or just make an arrangement at the expo (if there is not much to talk about).
Thanks, Martin
Re: Connecting Labguru to JMP via REST APIA current circumstance raises my interest in the outcome of this discussion
We have a customer who runs Revity Signals ELN as well. The business critical point here is that the ELN has been decided to be the central storage of all developmental data and reports, i.e. everything they produce in JMP must go into this ELN. Additionally, Revitiy Signals has Spotfire integration, which will be used for visualization (and more so, if we cannot easily connect JMP with this ELN).
Happy to hear any feedback @martindemel @Daniel_Valente @briancorcoran
