Norwegian University of Science and TechnologyNorwegian University of Science and TechnologyVolker Kraft (@volker_kraft) and Paolo Chiappa (@paolo_chiappa) of the EMEA JMP Academic Team participated in the European Network for Business and Industrial Statistics (ENBIS) conference held in Trondheim, Norway, offering three demo sessions of case studies and applications with JMP and a four-hour hands-on workshop on multivariate analysis techniques. With about 30 participants in the workshop from academia and industry, the team was very happy to see champions and meet new prospects. It was also an opportunity to meet two departments at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) Department of Chemical Engineering and Department of Engineering and Materials Science and run two workshops on DOE, modeling and EDA.
Notable new Academic Suite licenses in Q2 include École Nationale Supérieure de Technologie des Biomolécules de Bordeaux (ENSTBB) in France, Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München (LMU) in Germany, and Orebro University in Sweden.
ASIA
Manipal Academy of Higher Education 
Manipal Academy of Higher EducationManipal Academy of Higher Education(MAHE) is one of India's leading academic and research institutions, ranked seventh among Indian universities, onboarded a campuswide JMP Academic Suite. MAHE offers 350 degree programs across 30 disciplines. Led by the Department of Chemical Engineering, Murali Anandamurthy (@Muralidhara) arranged JMP Mastering workshops to create awareness of JMP to other departments and highlighted the various capabilities of JMP for academic research.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Asia's oldest institute for professional social work education (ranked the No. 1 institute for social sciences in India), will use JMP Pro starting this upcoming academic year. TISS was an early adopter and heavy user of SPSS. After a detailed demo, the Department of Labour and Management decided to adopt JMP for multiple courses, including introductory statistics and research and multivariate methods. The faculty team also appreciated the flexibility of the SEM component.
Tsinghua University is the top university in China. Prof. Yang from the Department of Mathematical Sciences was interested in JMP and how it’s used in industry. Alex Xu (@Alex_Xu) gave a lecture and case study for the best 20 students in the department. They were very impressed by JMP’s capabilities and how companies use JMP to solve challenging problems. Prof. Yang and his students will use JMP for data exploration and look forward to the next lecture. They planned to buy a one-year license at first, but after Alex’s lecture the professor committed to purchasing a five-year pre-paid license.
Notable new Academic Suite licenses in Q2 include Tsinghua University and Ming Chi University in China, along with Manipal Academy and Tata Institute in India.
AMERICAS
The University of Toronto 
University of TorontoUniversity of Torontohas been ranked by US News & World Report as the top research university in Canada and 16th in the world. The school of Applied Science & Engineering has nine different departments and 25 research centers. One such center, BioZone, consists of faculty and graduate students from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry. The center focuses on research pertaining to the interface of biology and engineering to solve urgent problems in energy, environment and health. The center had identified that developing researchers’ abilities in properly designing and analyzing statistically efficient experiments would be extremely beneficial in their work. The center reached out to the Academic Team and Kevin Potcner (@Potcner) to participate in a multi-day workshop series consisting of a combination of traditional lectures on DOE and hands-on activities using JMP. Respondents to a post-workshop survey indicated that they all plan to use JMP for designing and analyzing experiments in their research and that it was “Informative and engaging. Hands on practice was great.” The group also plans to acquire an Academic Suite license this summer.
The Academic Team delivered two talks and a workshop at the 2022 Electronic Conference on Teaching Statistics (eCOTS), a major biannual conference for undergraduate statistics instructors. Kevin Potcner delivered a presentation on vital skills for modern data science students to solve problems in real-world contexts. Ross Metusalem (@Ross_Metusalem) delivered a talk on the application of cognitive science research to statistics education. Both were well received and engagement at the conference generated 129 high-quality leads and several follow-up demos.
Florida Atlantic University 
Charles E. Schmidt College of Science, Florida Atlantic UniversityCharles E. Schmidt College of Science, Florida Atlantic University(FAU) obtained a JMP Academic Suite license for the Charles E. Schmidt College of Science. Pany Allen (@pany_allen) reports that they plan to incorporate JMP in statistics and analytics courses throughout the program. FAU offers more than 180 undergraduate and graduate degree programs and enrollment has grown to over 30,000 students.
Notable new Academic Suite licenses include the University of Rhode Island, California Lutheran University, UT Southwestern Medical School, Texas Tech University Paul L. Foster School of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
