Help you and your class to see how JMP is used in our core industries
The objectives of this exercise are:
- Spend time working with your team and getting to know the people in your JMP Academy class - most important
- Practise finding useful resources and posting articles in InsideJMP
- Create a short and simple article to help you and your JMP Academy class find out a bit about how JMP is used in our core industries
Team homework task to be ready to discuss on July 13
Each team will create 1 short article in the JMP Academy Cycle 9 Library to explain how JMP is used in one of the core JMP industries:
- Team 1: Semiconductor
- Team 2: Chemical
- Team 3: Consumer Products
- Team 4: Biotechnology
- Team 5: Batteries
How should we do this?
- Have fun and use your creativity. We are not grading you on this!
- Keep the article short - it should not be longer than this article. The equivalent of 2 pages A4 including images is about right.
- Keep it simple so that everybody in the class can quickly read it and understand the basics of how JMP is used by that industry.
- You decide how you will divide up the work between your team.
- We know that collaborating across different time zones and languages is really hard. Connecting you with colleagues around the world is the main goal of JMP Academy.
- Talk to your colleagues. Talk to colleagues that you work with outside of JMP Academy. Talk to people in JMP that have previously worked in the industry. Talk to people in JMP that have worked a lot with customers in the industry.
- If you feel inspired, experiment with what is possible in InsideJMP articles. You can post videos and even interactive JMP Public reports. But keeping it simple with words and pictures is fine.
What could the article include?
- What does the industry produce and why is it important for the world?
- 2 or 3 examples of companies in the industry that use JMP
- 2 or 3 job roles in that industry that would use JMP?
- What is an example of a scientific or engineering challenge that they have that they can solve with JMP?
- 2 or 3 bullet points on why JMP is such a good solution for them?
- 2 or 3 customer stories, customer quotes, demo case studies, or sales win stories
- Let us know who you talked to and some links to resources that you used
Do you have an example?
Yes. I created this article about how JMP is used in poultry production. This is NOT a core JMP industry but it is one that I know about from working with some of our customers. I am sure that your articles will be much more interesting and useful.
