D68 Auto Updating Data Table for Automated JMP Live Dashboards

Here is a data table with several features, all designed to make it easy to create an automated JMP Live Report that updates daily with fresh data.  We will be using this during the mid-year exercise to build an automated JMP Live report.

There is also an overview video of the various features of the table.

As a head start on the mid-year exercise, if you have time, you could view the video and modify the table according to the best JMP Live prospects in your territory.  This way, after midyear, you will be all set for your next JMP Live engagement.

This is great. Thank you Hyde for making this data table.

One thing I found out, if anyone has not noticed it yet. As we run the Dashboard builder.jsl, we add 2 new observations and make report.

 

In the Dashboard Builder.jsl, there's a line that executes "Update table"

 

dt = Open(mypath || myfile);
dt << Run Script("Update table");
dt << Save;
dt << Run Script("Publish to JMP Live");
Close(dt);

However, there's also same line in the "Publish to JMP Live" script in the report data.jmp

 

 

this_dt = current data table();

this_dt << Run Script("Update table");
this_report = this_dt << Run Script("Dashboard");
webreport = New Web Report();
webreport << Index(
 Title( this_title ),
 description( this_description )
);
webreport << add report( this_report );

This results in adding 2 new observations to the data table.

So if it were not intended, we could delete the "Update table" line in the Dashboard builder.jsl
