One hot encoding for categorical type columnsIs there a way to one hot encode a categorical type column other than manually - i.e. from a column with n categorical levels, create n-1 columns of 0s and 1s?
Re: One hot encoding for categorical type columnsI'm not sure if this is what you are looking for or not, but you can convert a column with n categorical levels into n columns of 0s and 1s. Select your categorical column, then choose Cols > Utilities > Make Indicator Columns.
If you don't want all n indicator columns, just delete the last one. That way the all 0's for the Indicator Columns would indicate the last level.
