I need a sanity check on an analysis method I derived based on a couple of posts on this forum and on the answers to a previous question.
Namely, I need to determine the effects of Treatment and Biomarker levels on a clinical measure that is not normally distributed and cannot be transformed into a normally distributed response variable. Since JMP 11.1 does not provide non-parametric multi-variable models, I used a work-around: I derived the ranks of the clinical measures and used those ranks (Ordinal distribution) as the response variable in an ordinal logistic model with Treatment and Biomarker levels as Effect variables.
Am I violating key assumptions of the Logistic model by using my work-around approach?
If I do, what would be an acceptable alternative (note: binning the response variable in 2 – 4 bins is not desirable)?
Thank you
