I am trying to work out why my MSA results in an Excel spreadsheet don't marry up with any of the Gauge EMP R&R results, the Variance Components, or the Gauge R&R results. I have 3 operators (o= 3), 4 parts (p = 4) and 3 trials (n = 3). I get the same average range (0.475), average (70.342), LCL and UCL in the average chart (69.856, 70.828) and UCL in the range chart (1.223). Using the calculations from EMPIII by Donald Wheeler I calculate 0.2806 for repeatability and 0.2987 for reproducibility. JMP calculates 0.2947 and 0.04892, respectively. I suspect I have my bias correction factors wrong or I am using the wrong formulas. Can anyone help me to understand, please?
