Getting Started with JMP - Changes impacting worldwide jmp.com sites and SE approach to live Getting Started WebinarsAs JMP grows, we are learning to consistently address our customers worldwide in a standard manner that also takes into account differing geographic preferences and resources. Our goal is for customers in one geography, and at one company, to have access to equivalent resources as customers in other geograhic locations, and at the same company in other geographic locations.
In particular, we want our JMP Trial and new JMP users to have a consistent path to get started with JMP.
An luckily, we now have the talent and resources of the JMP Education Team @ruthhummel , @ledi_trutna , @Di_Michelson and @monica_beals to help guide us.
To that end, we are:
1) Standardizing Getting Started with JMP live webinars. JMP Ed has provided the source. In the US, webinars will still be given weekly by SEs. @ChuckBoiler , @MaryLoveless and @nick_shelton agree that in the US, this regular in-person session webinar is useful. ACTION: Gail to finalize by June 15.
2) Removing On-Demand versions of Getting Started. Please note that the current US version uses JMP 13 is on accessed lpossibly only a few times a week. ACTION: Gail and Web Team to finalize by end of June .
3) Updating pages on jmp.com to remove links to Getting Started On Demand. @roger Roger Alford is helping make sure this happens. ACTION: Gail and Web Team to finalize by end of June .
4) Driving people who want immediate access to The New User Welcome Kit @ryandewitt as an alternate to the on-demand Getting Started. His kit is where people USE JMP is a better learning resource than a video.
- Action: Banner everywhere here to remove ON DEMAND WEBINAR TAB

Rationale as approved by Jeff Perkinson @Jeff_Perkinson
- We have lots of resources to Get people started and the Live Webinars bring the most value due to Q&A and knowledgeable real person doing the demo.
- Jmp.com is a marketing site, and we do want demo downloaders to have a simple idea of how to start and what is available, so the site should remain.
- JMP Teams are working on how to ‘drip’ info to people as they learn one thing – that is, drip what the next learning step might be. The sequence of steps is being driven by JMP Ed. In any case, after they are USERS, the main site for them should and will be Community.jmp.com, not jmp.com.
- Now that SAS ED JMP team is part of JMP, they are standardizing the Getting Started content given weekly (US SE Managers were in the loop on this) and the video (formerly for customers) made by one of the JMP Ed people will be used as an example for SEs worldwide.
- The New User Welcome Kit is a better Getting Started Tool – because touching JMP is more useful than viewing a video) and Ryan DeWitt and the JMP Ed team are integrating that into a larger Getting Started standardization.
Americas Marketing NewsWebinarsRe: Getting Started with JMP - Changes impacting worldwide jmp.com sites and SE approach to live Getting Started WebinarsI followed @Di_Michelson's script and notes, but I added one tiny thing: a workflow builder element. Essentially, when opening the JMP Orders file, I had a workflow saved off screen that I ran to a) dazzle the audience with how things can be made to look easy, and b) give a preview of where we were headed. I then went back to script, and at the end, re-did everything kinda quickly (using virtual join, etc.) with the Workflow Builder recording my steps. At the end, I was able to push play on the workflow and demonstrate how easy it was. I'm happy to share the workflow and a script I made to get everything ready for the demo, if anyone wants (I was unable to attach .jmpflow, .jsl, or .zip files to this message).
Re: Getting Started with JMP - Changes impacting worldwide jmp.com sites and SE approach to live Getting Started WebinarsComment from Nick Shelton @nick_shelton at meeting with Mary @MaryLoveless , Chuck @chuck_boiler : These videos are on You tube with 150,000 hits over 6 years (~ as hits to Minitab starter hits, BTW). Do we leave them there or take them down.
Re: Getting Started with JMP - Changes impacting worldwide jmp.com sites and SE approach to live Getting Started WebinarsJeff @Jeff_Perkinson , I just spoke with Maria @maria_astals about:
1. Possible need for a Getting Started video that IT/champions can use for new users
2. Considering incorporating Getting Started Video into JMP Help (like Welcome Kit link)
3. Role of User enablement standardizing NEW SITE/USER communication delivered by us, maybe not sales
Re: Getting Started with JMP - Changes impacting worldwide jmp.com sites and SE approach to live Getting Started WebinarsAlso, for the JMP Day programs that Kathy Walker @kathy_walker , Maria Astal- Seres @maria_astals , Kirsten Boyd @KirstenCrannell and Robin Moran @robin_moran manage, the followup to users who attend or can't attend, is the New User Welcome Kit. They will start pointing JMP Day attendees to the New Welcome User Kit.
New User Welcome Kit: The best way to get started with JMP is to start using it. The interactive, self-paced New User Welcome Kit, which is designed to guide you through the basics, is the ideal place to start.

For Academic, let’s redirect to the webinar library at https://www.jmp.com/en_us/academic/academic-webinars.html.
Sounds like traffic is low so we’re good to remove these from the academic library.
