Pride Month, recognized throughout June, is filled with celebrations and commemorations that elevate the LGBTQ+ community and LGBTQ+ voices.
Pride Month was established following the Stonewall Riots in New York City. Now, Pride Month is celebrated all over the world, honoring the individuals and their efforts in advancing LGBTQ+ rights and equality.

Becoming an Ally and Strengthening Allyship
By raising personal awareness and support, non-identifying LGBTQ+ individuals can become allies and further inclusivity and belonging within the community. To help achieve allyship and support the LGBTQ+ community, explore the SAS LGBTQ+ Be an Ally toolkit in the SAS Active Allies Resource Center.
Although Pride Month is only recognized during June, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community and members should not be exclusive to this month. We must continue these discussions and continue celebrating everyone and their identities.
