As JMP grows, we are learning to conistently address our customers worldwide in a standard manner that also takes into account differeing geographic preferences and resources. Our goal is for customers in one geography, and at one company, to have access to equivalent resources as customers in other geograhic locations, and at the same company in other geographic locations.
In particular, we want our JMP Trial and new JMP users to have a consistent path to get started with JMP.
An luckily, we now have the talent and resources of the JMP Education Team @ruthhummel , @ledi_trutna , @Di_Michelson and @monica_beals to help guide us.
To that end, we are:
1) Standardizing Getting Started with JMP live webinars. JMP Ed has provided the source. In the US, webinars will still be given weekly by SEs. @ChuckBoiler , @MaryLoveless and @nick_shelton agree that in the US, this regular in-person session webinar is useful. ACTION: Gail to finalize by June 15.
2) Removing On-Demand versions of Getting Started. Please note that the current US version uses JMP 13 is on accessed lpossibly only a few times a week. ACTION: Gail and Web Team to finalize by end of June .
3) Updating pages on jmp.com to remove links to Getting Started On Demand. @roger Roger Alford is helping make sure this happens. ACTION: Gail and Web Team to finalize by end of June .
4) Driving people who want immediate access to The New User Welcome Kit @ryandewitt as an alternate to the on-demand Getting Started. His kit is where people USE JMP is a better learning resource than a video.

Rationale as approved by Jeff Perkinson @Jeff_Perkinson
- We have lots of resources to Get people started and the Live Webinars bring the most value due to Q&A and knowledgeable real person doing the demo.
- Jmp.com is a marketing site, and we do want demo downloaders to have a simple idea of how to start and what is available, so the site should remain.
- JMP Teams are working on how to ‘drip’ info to people as they learn one thing – that is, drip what the next learning step might be. The sequence of steps is being driven by JMP Ed. In any case, after they are USERS, the main site for them should and will be Community.jmp.com, not jmp.com.
- Now that SAS ED JMP team is part of JMP, they are standardizing the Getting Started content given weekly (US SE Managers were in the loop on this) and the video (formerly for customers) made by one of the JMP Ed people will be used as an example for SEs worldwide.
- The New User Welcome Kit is a better Getting Started Tool – because touching JMP is more useful than viewing a video) and Ryan DeWitt and the JMP Ed team are integrating that into a larger Getting Started standardization.
