@RISK software from PalisadeA new employee joined one of my customers and had been used to using the "at Risk" software from Palisade for Monte Carlo simulation at his previous employer. I was curious if anyone had experience with this platform?
Would the Simulate feature in Pro be comparable to this type of analysis? P&G seems to be a big user so perhaps there is functionality there we can't match. Might be a nice way to capture more business/finance users if we could.
Re: @RISK software from PalisadeHi @Joseph_Reese ,
I used atRisk a little before I joined JMP. I can't remember it too well as I found I could do what I needed to do in JMP.
The simulator capability in Prediction Profiler is the closest thing.
The Excel Profiler capability could also be relevant.
You could profile a cost model (for example) that was built in Excel and then use the Simulator in the profiler to do Monte Carlo simulation and see how input variation is transmitted into variation in the output of the model.
This video about the Excel Profiler is old but might still be useful:
JMP 9 Excel Add-In: Profiler - Bing video
I hope that helps.

Re: @RISK software from PalisadeThank you @Phil_Kay . This is really helpful. I had initially discussed the simulations in the prediction profiler with this user but then wondered how directly that compared with what Palisade offered and if Pro would be needed for the more general Simulate platform.
Great to hear that JMP had everything you needed and I will also discuss the Excel add-in with them. Thanks again!
