Re: Converted scale for axes in graph builderHave you had success creating a plot like this in other programs? Sometimes that gives me good inspiration to see another good example.
In Graph Builder you could definitely drag 2 different variables to go on the x and y axis (assuming you have separate columns in your table for Thickness and Force). With multiple variables on the same axis, you can right-click on the axis and choose Combine Scales --> Nested. You could then double-click on the axis to go to the Axis Settings. This is where I run out of usefulness a bit because you can change things like the Increment to make the axis less busy. But the nesting doesn't look too nice as I believe it's pseudo-converting the nested axis into a categorical rather than continuous variable.
Perhaps others have had more luck?

Re: Converted scale for axes in graph builderI found this script on the forums which is similar to what I am looking for but scales the data; Multiple Y-Axis Graphs
What is interesting in the script is "The graph box makes nice axis boxes, and if the width of the graph box is set to 0, only the y-axis box shows up."
It is also the case if you create a graphbox with a 0 height, it will just plot the x-axis box.
Converted scale for axes in graph builderHi, I am sick and tired of having to make multiple charts for Europe and America! I can't be the only one!
Could we please get a way of adding a second axis scale label in charts, which are only unit conversions of the primary axis.
Example (see pic) a force - distance chart I use the SI units for the data (mm , kN) and these are plotted as normal and the primary axis labels are created using the data, but also next to the x (left) and y axis (below) I'd like to have an option in the axis settings to add another full new axis label with a different transformed scale (with options on color, font increments/position etc). Much like the label function already implemented to add a single or range label.. but an automatically transformed scaled axis label (with ticks etc) from a scale/offset. [Would be extra cool if you added some normal conversion factors into a list. like mm-inch, c-f, m-ft etc.. along with an ability to add a custom scale/offset]
Yes I could add this myself with code (probably) but I think other users would find it useful (especially engineers!).
Again, not to change/transform the data, only add a second scale label to the axis. Also not to add a second opposite axis, you can do that already (with the y-axis anyway..)
Using JMP 16.1 Pro I haven't seen a way to easily add this.

Re: Converted scale for axes in graph builder - Status changed to: AcknowledgedRe: Converted scale for axes in graph builderIt feels like the Parallel Y Axes now available in JMP 19 can help with half of the problem (New in Graph Builder for JMP 19 - User Community). Maybe @XanGregg knows of a clever solution. A column switcher could be used to swap the axes, but wouldn't show them simultaneously.
