A fundraiser update from WUNC Radio
Thanks so much to everyone who donated to WUNC's Spring Fundraiser! The SAS/JMP Challenge was a huge success. More than 150 employees were matched and more than $181,000 has been contributed to WUNC, including Sustaining donations! Thank you so much. WUNC is so thankful for the support of all the SAS/JMP employees as well as the support of John and Ginger Sall. Thank you and good luck! You might be going to Paris, Italy, Ireland or a trip of your choice!
The fundraiser is over. Details from April 21:
Why in the world does a radio station need donations from JMP and SAS employees? Because to meet the mission of providing “high-quality news, cultural and entertainment content to create a more informed and engaged community,” WUNC counts on community support. This North Carolina Public Radio station is a kind of public broadcasting, after all, and these non-commercial entities often rely on individual contributions.
That’s why, year after year, our founder and boss John Sall and his brilliant wife Ginger Sall match our WUNC donations dollar for dollar. The Salls believe in empowering people, obviously, because that’s what JMP does. And they believe in informing and educating people too. And that’s what WUNC does.
Make your donation count the most
Of course, you can donate to this or any public radio station any day at any time. But if you want the Salls to match your donation to WUNC, there are two things needed:
- Your donation must be made on Thursday, April 21, starting at 7:00 a.m. EST.
- You must indicate that you are a JMP or SAS employee.
And there are two ways you can make the donation during that window.
- Call the phone number + 1-800-962-9862
- Donate online at wunc.org
Some SAS and JMP employees give to WUNC every month and are called Sustainers. I you are one of those generous individuals and you want to get your donation matched, simply email Regina Yeager at ryeager@wunc.org.
