As of March 2024, the latest version of JMP is 17.2. The new version of JMP, 18.0, is scheduled to be released at the end of March this year.
JMP version changes (updates) are largely divided into Major/Minor Updates. When updating to the latest version, 17.2 -> 18.0, changing the first decimal place from 17 to 18 is called a Major Update, and changing the last decimal place from .2 to .0 is called a Minor Update.
JMP's Major Update includes adding new functions and strengthening existing functions , while the main purpose of Minor Update is stabilization such as fixing bugs .
If you are a JMP Annual License customer, you can upgrade JMP’s Major/Minor Update for free without any additional cost.
So, what is another difference between Major Update and Minor Update? In the case of Minor Update, it does not modify/change previously set environment settings or personalized menus, as it feels like overwriting the existing JMP program. However, in the case of a major update, there is the inconvenience of having to reinstall existing environment settings, personalized menus/Add-ins, etc. by installing a new program.
For certain customers, we distribute environmental settings and customized menus for unification (environmental settings, report format, etc.) with the customer/partner. Due to these business reasons and issues such as resetting personalized menus, there are customers who cannot easily upgrade even when a new version of the function is released.
Accordingly, we would like to provide personalized menus and methods for saving/restoring/distributing preferences.

In my case, I also create and use my own menu (My Menu in the picture below) that I use often. We have created 15 sub-menus and are using them conveniently.

First, you can easily create your own menu by referring to the link below to learn how to create a personalized menu.
