Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?StatQuest is fun and could be a great audience for people wanting statistics to be easier
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?Veritasium - fun science communicator, I love it and so do my nephews (tweens). That doesn't happen often!
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels? My go to channels are numberphile, standupmaths, 3blue1brown, and vsauce2. I also occasionally watch Mathologer, though he doesn't post as frequently, and Veritasium.
Vsauce2 has recently been on a statistics kick, so it'd be an awesome fit!
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?mark rober. I would pay to see @julian and Mark compete in an experiment. "Dear Mark, you're doing it wrong. Only if you used JMP...."
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?Definitely Mark Rober
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?Going to Double Down Trent this one: If this cost is accurate, we need the Mark Rober vs. Julian experiment at Discovery!
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels? The Modern Rogue is 90% Mythbusters, 10% Jackass. They may or may not have done a great episode on beards.
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?- Recollection Road
- Mary Spender
- Frog Leap Studios
- DØVYDAS
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?I put this question to JJ and he suggests Veritasium, Tom Scott, Kurzgesagt, Space Time with Matt O'Dowd, and Smarter Every Day.
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels? In French:
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels? It's worth noting that the vast majority of the channels being recommended here are things people watch at home for fun, not at work for work purposes. Unfortunately, JMP's current licensing model makes it impossible for all but an extremely tiny minority to ever use JMP at home for fun, which prevents us from being able to compete (or even exist) in that space.
(I've actually done this, meaning demonstrated to friends and relatives things I've done in JMP. What happens is--and it always follows this exact same trajectory--they are really enthusiastic about JMP until they realize they can't possibly afford to actually purchase it for themselves).
Unless and until we decide to change course and offer a low cost "light", "home", or "express" edition of JMP that regular people can use in home experiments, we'll never be part of the same universe as Tom Scott, Mark Rover, Veritasium, etc.
Because ultimately, people get much more excited about "look what I can do and so can you!" than "look what I can do with this really expensive tool that you'll never have access to!". (As an example, all the visualizations in 3blue1brown are done using a custom open source visualization library created by the author of the videos, which everyone interested is encouraged to download and experiment with similar visualizations of their own).
Of course I am far from being able to give a solid opinion on whether our current sales/licensing approach is the best one, but as long as we have what we have we need to be realistic about the limitations that puts us under in regards to becoming a popular YouTube channel.
Re: What are your favorite YouTube channels?I personally love 3Blue1brown and StatQuest video
What are your favorite YouTube channels?
We have about 10,000 subscribers to the JMP YouTube channel, but we can have more. So we’re tweaking our channel and optimizing the videos that we place there. Our goal is to have our channel work around the world, and to make it easy for these three audiences to find what they need...
- Not-yet users who want to get started using JMP quickly and easily
- Users who need to know how to use JMP to its fullest
- Scientists and engineers, students and professors, analysts and other data explorers who have not yet been exposed to our amazing products and our powerful brand
We’re also launching a series of branding videos with the goal of getting the JMP story in front of those scientists, engineers and other data explorers who don’t know us yet.
And this is where you come in.
Tell us, please, what YouTube channels you subscribe to or watch regularly. We want to place our ads on the channels that might be watched by intelligent, curious and scientifically minded people. That’s why we’re starting with you. Simply put your favorite channels in the comments boxes below and we’ll start a list to research.
We're looking forward to hearing about your favorite channels!
By the way, here's our working list of YouTube channels we'll be looking at.
