JMP Clinical 17 Update
JMP Clinical is our specialized software solution for clinical trial data review built upon CDISC data standards. The current version of JMP Clinical (8.1) includes SAS software as a subcomponent. To better align with JMP’s mission and goals, the next version of JMP Clinical will not include any SAS software. In addition, to synchronize with other JMP products, the next version number will skip to JMP Clinical 17, which is scheduled for release in Fall 2022. JMP Clinical 17 will have essentially the same capabilities as JMP Clinical 8.1, but with several improvements, including:
- Leaner and smaller installation package (from 10 GB to 1 GB) that is much easier to deploy
- Built on JMP Pro 17, providing advance predictive modeling tools and capabilities that will allow you to extend the types of analyses you can do with clinical trial data, as well as use of native JMP Pro analysis tools for graphing, summary analysis, and more advanced analyses
- Increased filtering and interactivity of dynamic reports
- New and improved reports to assess the clinical trial at study, subgroups and individual level
- Submission ready reports that more closely conform to International Council on Harmonization (ICH) and Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) guidance and style, allowing JMP Clinical reports to be easily and directly used in new drug applications (NDAs) to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other national and international regulatory authorities
- A cleaner, simpler, and faster program that provides a better user experience
- Better and more interactive graphics for reports published to JMP Live
Product Roadmap Decision
As a new company, JMP will not distribute SAS products as part of JMP software products in the future. In addition, our improvements to JMP Clinical no longer require that we use SAS software as part of JMP Clinical. Because of this, the following product roadmap decisions have been made:
- For existing JMP Clinical Customers: We will no longer distribute JMP Clinical versions 8.1 and earlier after December 31, 2022
- For new JMP Clinical Customers: As soon as JMP Clinical 17 is released in Fall 2022, JMP will only distribute JMP Clinical 17 to new customers.
Customer Communication
For Current JMP Clinical Customers:
- Current JMP Clinical customers will receive formal notification of this product change as part of their renewal notices, beginning April 2022.
- For JMP Clinical customers that licensed JMP Clinical for the first time in 2022 that will not receive a renewal notice until 2023, a separate formal notification will be sent as soon as possible to share this product direction.
Sales teams should be proactive and reach out to their JMP Clinical customers to inform them of this direction. Sales should let JMP Business Operations know about these discussions so they are coordinated with the more formal notice process.
- Current customers may renew JMP Clinical versions 8.1 and earlier through December 31, 2022 and use the product through that annual license period ending on or prior to December 30, 2023.
- Current customers will receive JMP Clinical 17 by request or on their next renewal date after version 17 is released in Fall 2022.
- Beginning January 1, 2023, JMP will not renew licenses for JMP Clinical versions 8.1 and earlier, and customers will need to move to the new version of JMP Clinical if they wish to continue to license the product.
- Where approved by Legal and JMP Business Operations, certain exceptions to this policy are in place for customers with multi-year, committed deals entered into prior to February 2022 and with certain US federal government customers.
For Prospective JMP Clinical Customers:
Prospective JMP Clinical customers should be informed of this product direction during sales discussions, and formal notification will be included in all agreements between now and the release date for JMP Clinical 17. A customer who licenses JMP Clinical before the release of version 17 will receive version 8.1 but will then be allowed to move to the new version when it is available. During 2023, if the customer wishes to renew its license, the customer must move to JMP Clinical version 17.
JMP Clinical Early Adopter Program
We now have an Early Adopter (EA) program for JMP Clinical 17. We have provided JMP Clinical 17 EA6 to a limited number of customers for initial feedback, and with EA7 (available April 1, 2022), we will open the EA program to all current JMP Clinical users. Customers can go to www.jmp.com/earlyadopter and select the "Request Access" button below the JMP Clinical heading, or Sales can contact @SamGardner to let him know who Sales would like to invite. Product Management will send an invitation to the identified customer.
