Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge Day"Thanks for your email. I'm currently out of the office, taking a much needed quarterly rest and recharge day, a new tradition we're excited to start here at JMP! Seeing as how it is also Pi day, I'll be taking this opportunity to memorize the first 3600 digits of Pi. With roughly 24 opportunities to recite it, I've got a good chance at success. Wish me luck!"
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge Dayπr2 is not just the formula for the area of a circle. At JMP, it also means "Take pi day off to rest and recharge"! We're all out of office until 3/15, I'll get back to you then.
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge Day
Here's a Pi Day collage I made last night. Let's see some visual representations, please!
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge Day"Thanks for your email. I'm currently resting at the beach with my family and has a very limited internet connection. Today is Pi (π) Day and also a Recharge Day at JMP, a newly introduced corporate tradition! Do not worry, I will response to your email on 15 March 2022 respectively. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!"
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge DayI used a photo I took last year in Sarasota, Florida, to create this graphic. The message to go with this graphic could be something like:
"We're taking time to connect with our families and nature on our quarterly Rest and Recharge Day. See you tomorrow, all refreshed!"
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge DayMaybe somebody wants a Star Trek theme one. This I inspired by the Borg...
Today (March 14, 2022) is a company-sanctioned day of rest and relaxation. Resistance is futile – or at least ill-advised – so I’m taking the day to recharge. If you’re in the market for an employer that puts people first, check out our job openings at www.jmp.com/careers
Maybe someone can write one based on Spock and his use of Pi to defeat an enemy? Here's the reference: https://www.inverse.com/article/29052-pi-day-3-14-2018-spock-star-trek
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge DayWhich pie should I make in honor of 3.14? (an informal poll)
- Curried lobster pie
- Traditional eel pie with parsley liquor
- Root vegetables and herb pot pie
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge DayUnfortunately, your email won’t be answered before tomorrow.
JMP has chosen to start a new tradition and offered all of its employees to take a free day off to celebrate π day. I am very privileged to work for a such a company!
I am dedicating the day to Pi(e)ce and preparing donations for the refugees. Feel free to do so!

Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge Day"Thank you for your message. I will be out of the office on 3.14 indulging in some sweet time off courtesy of JMP."

Tell the world about Pi Day Rest and RechargeWe have a free day on Monday. Let's tell the world in our out-of-office messages and on our social media channels. This is how we help people know what a great company we work for, and that's how we'll fill our open positions with quality candidates. Scan below to the comments section to see messages and images created for that purpose by your colleagues.

Jon Weisz wrote this in a company-wide email: "We have all been working very hard. So, it’s a good time to start a new JMP tradition. Let’s all take a quarterly rest and recharge day on March 14th. Please try to not send or look at email, take calls, etc. We will all stay away from work and enjoy a mental break. No need to take a vacation day, this is on us. This is a day just for you to focus on your well-being, re-energize, and spend it however you would like (except working :smiling_face_with_smiling_eyes:)."
What a wonderful gift...the opportunity to rest and recharge.
Of course, we'll want to put out-of-office messages up and maybe even a LinkedIn or social media post letting people know why we're focused on other things for the day.
And that gives us an opportunity to be creative. In the comments section below, give us ideas for the perfect out-of-office message. And the visually creative JMPers (there are a lot of you out there) can create some kind of graphic that represents rest and relaxation and/or π because it will be on π day.
The best submissions will receive a prize -- and may have their work featured on official JMP social media channels as JMPers all over the world take the day off of work.
It's time to get creative!

Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge DayI might still have my "funny answering machine messages" book from the 90s if you want to borrow it.
(Though I think what we all learned from that decade is that, rather than make them laugh and think how witty you are, "funny" answering machine messages tended just to annoy the person trying to contact you, and were really best avoided--especially in a professional context. So I'd say some of that the same lesson would apply here...)
Re: Tell the world about Pi Day Rest and RechargeYes this has been really a nice surprise. Thanks a lot!
Re: Help us illustrate first JMP Rest and Recharge DayThis image could be for any kind of social media. And you could also just use the words for your out-of-office message. If you use this, be sure to add a working link to the careers page...
