March 22nd marks the International World Water Day.
As part of our JMP Care Activities during Discovery Summit Europe we want to invite customers and JMP staff to participate in a charitable clean-up activity. Just like “World Cleanup Day” last year, we want to do something good for our communities and analyze the data we collect on it. Litter thoughtlessly thrown on the ground or in the water clogs waterways and contaminates ground water. @mhammoud is preparing a JMP Public dashboard that we want to feature during the month of March.
Data due by Feb. 28
Now we need your help to collect data to get started. We'd like to collect as much data from you as possible until February 28. Of course you can continue to collect trash up until March 22 - but we'd like to have some submissions before we launch the dashboard publicly. And this is how you can help:
- Take a walk this week around your neighborhood. It does not matter if you live in a city, in the country or near water. You can do this alone, with a friend, family member or colleague. Collect trash you see around in a trash bag.
- Please be safe and use gloves or garbage tongs. Weigh the trash you collected (with a regular scale by weighing yourself with and without the trash), or a luggage weigh.
- Fill out the form
- If you like. Take a picture of yourself and post on social media.
For every kilo of trash we collect, JMP will donate 2 Euros to The Ocean Cleanup – an innovative organization from Rotterdam, Netherlands. We also encourage every participant to donate as well.
We will publish a blog post this to promote this campaign externally. We’ll link it here when it is ready.
