Vision for the Future:
JMP Genomics has served scientists in academia and industry with specific genomic and genetic analysis needs for almost 16 years. We want to build and grow upon that legacy by simplifying and streamlining our product offerings, and we want JMP Pro to be the future advanced and specialized analysis solution for our Health and Life Sciences (HLS) customers. For genomics data analysis, the character of our investments is changing, from previously encapsulating workflows, to now delivering tools that users can apply to make their own workflows, and ultimately making their work easier. In addition we have a strategic direction to remove SAS from all of our product offerings by the of this year, and this makes it the best time to make a change in how we serve the needs of genomics data scientist. Moving forward, we will focus our future efforts on evaluating HLS customer needs and developing specific techniques and platforms in JMP Pro that meet those needs, including their needs for genomic and genetic data analysis capabilities.
JMP Genomics
In light of our future vision, and as part of our move to becoming a new company and our IP agreements with SAS, we will stop selling JMP Genomics after March 31, 2022.
For Current JMP Genomics Customers:
Existing JMP Genomics Customers may renew JMP Genomics in 2022, which will allow use of the product through their renewal date in 2023. We will not renew JMP Genomics licenses in 2023.
Current customers may also add users to their JMP Genomics license through the earlier of their 2022 renewal date or Oct 15, 2022.
Current customers will have the option to convert to JMP Pro after Oct 15, 2022 and through their renewal date in 2023. Conversion to JMP Pro will be at renewal rates. Sales teams should reach out to current JMP Genomics customers to have a converstation about this product roadmap direction and the opportunity to convert to JMP Pro.
Current customers will be formally notified of this product decision as part of their renewal notice in 2022. JMP Business Operations will be responsible for making sure each customer is notified, with support from JMP Legal.
For Prospective Customers:
Existing opportunities for JMP Genomics that can be closed before March 31, 2022 may proceed, but those customers should be informed by the sales team of this product roadmap decision.
After the release of JMP Pro 17 in October 2022, JMP Pro will be the preferred solution we offer to genomic and genetic data scientists.

Questions and Answers:
Q: Are we abandoning our JMP Genomics customers?
A: Absolutely not! Our development team is actively making performance improvements for and adding features to JMP Pro, and JMP Pro 17 will be a great solution for genomic data analysis. We feel that this will benefit our Genomics customers in many ways, by giving them a better user experience, an easier program to install and manage, and more opportunity going forward to add capabilities that are important to them.
Q: Can a customer purchase a long term license for JMP Genomics so they can use it beyond 2023.
A: No, JMP cannot provide this type of license.
Q: Can JMP Genomics versions 10 and earlier continue to be used after 2023 if the customer licenses the necessary SAS components separately?
A: No. We will offer license updates for JMP Genomics 10 and earlier through 2022, and customers will only be able to use those versions through their renewal date in 2023.

@rene_kleinhans -- from a pricing standpoint we plan on standard pricing increases for JMP Pro YoY. There won't be an additional pricing increase due to the addition of wide data/Genomics features in JMP Pro. These capabilities are also generally applicable for many of the target industries that JMP serves that have wide data -- Semiconductor, Chemical, CP&G and Pharma among others.
Hi Sam,
I have a customer interested in JMP Genomics, however with this news we are planning on selling them Pro, with the assurance that Genomics capabilities will be coming later this year.
With the genomics capabilities built into JMP Pro 17, do you know if the FYF & Renewal cost of Pro will change or go up to reflect the additional capabilities built into JMP Pro17?
Thank you
@allang, you are correct that those product and tools compete with JMP Genomics currently. Although the two new planned platforms in JMP Pro that are specific for genetic marker analysis and simulation will not be available until JMP Pro 17 is released, JMP Pro 16 still has many capabilities that a genetic data scientist would find valuable. Let's have a separate discussion about SEO for JMP Pro sometime soon.
Based on our competitor info on Confluence, the below companies compete with the JMP Genomics product. Would you say we are not a close enough competitor to these companies until the JMP Pro 17 comes out and includes the genomics capabilities? Ultimately, I need to determine if we should try to show up in the search results when someone searches for these companies.
