Every October since 2012, the Academic team has conducted a survey to learn more about JMP usage in teaching and research.
The survey gathers information about course topics, the tools being used, the number of students in their courses, and more. In 2021, they had 1,200 survey respondents and learned of over 500 new courses using JMP. And through the team's direct relationships with professors, they learned of an additional 115 new courses or research areas where JMP is being utilized.
“It’s super exciting to see students learn the statistical and data sciences via our software,” says Academic Ambassador Kevin Potcner.
“And it really motivates us because we’re seeding those next users, whether those students take JMP out into their jobs in the commercial space or those students go on to academia themselves and they become the next rounds of teachers and researchers exposing students to JMP.”
Kevin Potcner explains the survey results (4:18)
