Re: Naming campaigns in Salesforce in 2022 - Inside JMP Events CalendarNina, is it possible to extend the number of Campaign Name characters that appear in the forms registration page? This is what customers see when registering for an event. Thanks!
Naming campaigns in Salesforce in 2022 - Inside JMP Events CalendarRyan has set up an automated Events Calendar in Inside JMP that gives an overview of upcoming Sales, Marketing and Customer Care events. It pulls the information directly out of Salesforce. Soon, there will be more filters added so you can filter by territory or campaign. In order to make the most out of this great tool, we need to standardize the naming conventions in SF - so all necessary information is visible (only the campaign info is pulled, not the parent campaign).
When you set up campaigns in Salesforce for 2022 please make sure you:
- add a description
- add a registration link
- use the global guideline below:
1st Tier Parent Campaign: Series name
2nd Tier Parent Campaign: Year - region - series name
Campaign Name: Region – Language - Series - Title - Type (live stream, on-demand, etc.) - Date (DDMMMYY)
e.g.:
1st Tier Parent Campaign: Global Statistically Speaking
2nd Tier Parent Campaign: 2022 EMEA Statistically Speaking
Campaign Name: EMEA -EN – Statistically Speaking – DOE to innovate – LS 10Feb22
Thank you!

thanks for pointing this out. I assume this is about a sales seminar/JMP Discovered? If the title is pulled directly into the form then you should probably keep it as short as possible, but have the relevant information like territory, company, date in there. For example:
US - Premier JMP Session xyz - What's New in 16 - Feb22
would that work?
Re: Naming campaigns in Salesforce in 2022 - Inside JMP Events Calendar@nina_chan , @maria_astals , @kathy_walker , I started setting up and uncovered some issues that might be valid or becasue I did not understand
Re: Naming campaigns in Salesforce in 2022 - Inside JMP Events CalendarHi all,
I agree with Gail, that having the final campaign too long will make our work hard, as we have parents with many child campaigns in it.
Territory, date, and topic are important for sales to filter.
Also, should we remove the date from Inside JMP since this is already in the SF name? Seems that the time (or date) differs if the event is on a different time zone:

@Ryan_Gilmore , what do you think here?
Thanks,
Maria
Re: Naming campaigns in Salesforce in 2022 - Inside JMP Events CalendarIdeally, if the campaign has a field for information, e.g. the date, then I would not include it in the title unless there is an additional need. If there are fields that would be helpful to add to provide more context, then we should contact the Salesforce team for assistance.
I do like the standardization of the names as that tends to make it easier for automated tasks to process. I also like the idea of the top-level parent campaign being a global campaign (as most campaigns being pulled seem to be associated with).
I am not well versed in how campaign information is used aside from pulling the data into the InsideJMP events board so if the campaign name is causing an issue in other areas, then maybe the current approach needs to be modified.
The list on the InsideJMP home page is to give a quick overview and not a comprehensive view of the event. For that, you would navigate to the event itself or the full list.
It really depends on what would be best to provide the information needed. Any decision made today can be changed later if it is not meeting a need.
Re: Naming campaigns in Salesforce in 2022 - Inside JMP Events CalendarHi. re: putting date in title - should we do it when it is redundant?
As much as I hate redundancy, it does add some value to people just eyeballing title and I am used to it.
A bigger issue @Ryan_Gilmore @maria_astals @nina_chan @carla_paquet1 is how things show up on calendar. For example this event https://community.jmp.com/t5/JMP-Events/FR-TI-Webinar-Pierre-Fabre-7DEC21/ec-p/434733#M174
Shows up on Calendar on the 6th and the 7th.

It is correct DATEA using CET Time zone in salesforce so maybe the time start end date messed it up when porting to INSIDE JMP Calendar
